TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! RESIDENTS RAGE AGAINST MODOT, KDOT AND KANSAS CITY LACKLUSTER REACTION TO TREACHEROUS ICY LOCAL STREETS!!!

A typical Kansas City December ice storm has paralyzed the greater Kansas City metropolitan are as residents are threatened by a crisis on local streets.

Here's the latest update from City Hall . . .

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect until 9:00 p.m. and a Wind Chill Advisory is in effect from 9:00 p.m. tonight until noon Sunday.

City crews are currently salting collector and arterial streets as drizzle continues throughout much of the area. Plows are mounted and ready when snow falls. As freezing drizzle has caused icy road conditions, we urge you to STAY HOME if you don’t have to be out.

Snow Command is monitoring the track of the snow storm which could bring one to four inches of snow to the Kansas City metropolitan area starting late this morning.

Breezy northwest winds may cause dry snow to blow and drift.

Brutal cold & dry conditions move in Saturday night & Sunday.

KCPD is telling people to stay home today . . .

Big b-ball game canceled today . . .

But here's the real deal . . .

KANSAS CITY METRO RESIDENTS BLAME MODOT, KDOT AND KCMO INCOMPETENCE FOR THE EXCEPTIONALLY DANGEROUS, CROWDED AND SLICK CONDITIONS LOCAL STREETS!!!

Here's the rundown . . .

- Last night our blog community and a KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTER was FIRST to put the news on blast that I-29 was a parking lot and drivers were stranded for HOURS without any salt trucks in sight all day.

Check the MoDOT Travel map

- Just sent our way, a powerful perspective from the Kansas side . . . "KDOT doesn't have the funds to be proactive. But that is what Kansas voters wanted when they elected people to financially break the state so suffer fools. You deserve every miserable moment of your troubles."

Here's the scary Kansas Driver map . . .

- As usual . . . In Kansas City Proper the real debate is over the UNTREATED AND IGNORED SIDE STREETS that City Hall has neglected for YEARS. This street clearing strategy is exceptionally controversial and has yet to be addressed by any public official.

As always, we want readers to STAY SAFE AND DRIVE CAREFULLY . . . But realize this crisis isn't just about weather but relates to serious allegations about the tactics and priorities of our local government . . .

Developing and YOU DECIDE . . .

But we've got money for a streetcar.

But we've got money for a convention hotel.

But we've got money for community center pizza parties.

When it comes to our roads, bridges and neighborhood streets. I guess we're out of luck and have to approve more funding.

    Sorry KC!

  3. Don't just put it on the transportation departments. The real issue is funding that comes from elected officials like Sly, and the Kansas and Missouri legislatures. Today the blood is on their hands. No salt trucks with a week to prepare? What a shame!

  4. I don't know about the rest of the city but Brookside has no salt on it. My son went to work at 5:00AM and said most main streets and the Felony Freeway, 71 Hwy, had no salt. I never expect much from KCMO city services. I'm rarely disappointed.

This is obviously a phony story. We highly educated Mizzou geniuses who work in Missouri state government never make mistakes. I am living proof of it. You can see what a genius I am next time you visit St. Joe and see the stoplights that I so expertly program.

I guarantee that there son't be any backlash against me. I'm too popular and smart.

  18. What you do is inundate the 311 action center EMAIL with all your complaints nad comments on whatever you don't like. Each and every email regardless of its nature is a matter of public record. This is probably a misuse of 311, yet is is a record. After several months of thousands of extra emails the city will backlash about it. This is the ONLY way to get the attention of whomever is is charge. Once the attention of the city is got, they are ready to officially to hear things about issues and are cornered to do something. Other wise keep flooding the system and make the statistics/metrics of the city's data crunching reflect what poor running of the city and their elected officials and appointees accountable for poor decision and lack of action and neglect. Let the citizens rise up and confront this administration. By trying to do anything face to face, you are blown off. When you circumvent direct confrontation, which gets you no where- as many employees know, we can bring the city to its knees begging to stop. With official records of discontent, higher results are achieved. Remember the SUNSHINE LAW. Everyone may exercise it. With a few good lawyers involved most things can be rectified, or at very least make the city payout$ to address its problems. After enough monetary payouts somethings can actually get better. Pull grievence actions and continue to court- even on the most simple of indiscretions. Horrible way to do it, but truly its the only way. Atonement.

We are looking into selling the pothole fixing, snowplowing and salting rights on KS highways to the lowest bidder.

UBER will help make people rich and your drive home better. Or maybe it will be Papa Johns delivery that will be gettin it done!

Buy a clue or two from us Missouri, Lord knows we need moar money for taxbreaks over here.

  21. Yesterday... last night....Modot or Kdot- both could have helped motorists out by pre-treatment of roads. Did they? We need transparency and answers immediately. Of course they are humans and make mistakes- but this was colossal. Do they have weather advisory committees? Does anyone monitor on weekends during heavy vacations? Who is in charge during these times? Was there a meeting Friday morning to discuss weekend coverage or a plan to get roadways treated? How comfortable is upper management with the chain of events and media coverage of Friday's Comedy of Errors and Blunders? It's not like the temperature was below zero and treatment of roads was impossible. Should officials be allowed to have a normal Saturday? Should there be a top leadership meeting Saturday morning to fact find and prevent this debacle from happening again? Is there a local team comprised of MoDot and KDot leadershipthat collaborates to make the best decisions for public safety? Transparency is needed. If this is the best all the players could do- then perhaps we need new players. If not- what's the plan for next time?

You can try your futile "grievance lawsuits" and try exercising the Sunshine Law on me, but it won't work. You'd only find out that I am perfect in every way and the most-qualified, intelligent, genius of a public servant. But of course that should come as no surprise. All of us MIZZOU grads are like that.

And I see that no one here can argue to the contrary. No one has. Becuause I am right.
