Frank White losing control at the courthouse: Legislature in open revolt from a man they see aciting like a dictator

The MSM, and specifically the KC STAR, has been simply missing in action as one of the biggest political battles in over a generation is being waged at this very moment inside the courthouse right under their noses. In just one year in office, the Frank White administration has shockingly shown unprecedented levels of INCOMPETENCE at the jail, an inability to deal honestly with their first budget, and at the same time demanded that everyone at the courthouse act like fawning fan boys and turn a blind eye to the to their increasingly "sketchy shenanigans" and "bending of the rules" to suit their whims. In one short year, Frank's dictatorial leadership style has turned unanimous support and near universal praise into a government now filled with outright paranoia, intrigue, distrust and utter dishonesty.

Frank's bullying tactics are now coming home to roost for him as nearly the entire legislature is now in open revolt from an administration they see as quickly CRASHING AND BURNING. Remember, this was the very same legislature that for over 10 years was the but of local political jokes because they NEVER seemed to take a stand against the then executive on ANYTHING. That was then, and this is now. The legislature, minus the support of outgoing chair Crystal Williams and Tony Miller, are poised to begin standing up to the bullies and make the administration start following its own rules.

The battlefield HAS BEEN MOVED TO TUESDAY as clear majority of the legislature threatens to vote to DRASTICALLY amend Frank's proposed budget for 2017. The budget Frank proposed contained HISTORIC AND SHOCKING LEVELS OF PORK, namely to the tune of millions of unaccounted for dollars, and would have allowed team Frank nearly unfettered discretion to spend million of taxpayer dollars without any real oversight. Given the recent SCANDALS surrounding Frank and his "county contractor" funded VIP invitation only parties, this simply needs to happen. The legislative budget RESTORES ACCOUNTABILITY and is an attempt to provide some checks and balances to an administration whose power grabs have gotten out of control. Thankfully, the legislature appears to be now woke and the hopes of the county is that they can stop the pay-to-play mentality that is quickly descending on the courthouse.

The historical context is significant if the legislature votes to pass their own budget. Since passage of the charger in 1972, no county executive has ever lost this control of the courthouse, nor has one EVER lost total control of the budget. So to the labels of INCOMPETENT and DICTATORIAL, we may soon be able to add the tag increasingly IRRELEVANT.
