This morning a massive rolling gun battle across the East Side put an entire community on lock down and reminded residents of the horrific toll that a recent uptick in violence has taken on Kansas City.
We blogged it earlier and now here's a compilation of the best MSM reporting on the topic.
Official word:
"Officers were called to Gregory & Prospect on the sound of shots. Upon arrival, officers observed suspects actively shooting at each other. Fearing for their safety, one officer fired shots. Due to the gunfire, three vehicles were involved in an accident. While securing the scene, officers heard numerous shots fired in their immediate area, for several minutes. Officers observed vehicles near the initial scene involved in a mobile disturbance firing shots. Due to continuous gunfire and an active scene, a City-Wide assist the officer was broadcast. Law enforcement from numerous surrounding agencies responded and assisted with the incident. The incident spans from 70th to 72nd streets, Prospect to Brooklyn.
"No officers were injured during the incident. At this time one suspect stated he was shot by police and was treated for minor injuries. Six (later upgraded to seven) victims responded to local hospitals with gunshot wounds. One victim is listed in critical condition, other victims have non-life threatening injuries."

ReplyDeletethis is why we can't have anything nice.
And this surprises no one.
ReplyDeleteWhere's Forte? He had his ass in front of the camera non-stop when homicides went down, thanking the "community." Where's the community now? Who are you going to blame for this failure? This is what happens when you blame your police officers for the epic failure of the black community to do anything other than scheme to get more money out of the taxpayers of this country. You can thank "unreasonable fear" for why the police department has absolutely no faith in Forte and WILL NOT ever work again under his tenure. Now he's been in hiding for six weeks while his "community" goes down in flames. Great leadership!
ReplyDeleteI know who is responsible for this: racist white people. They are the ones that pulled the triggers on stolen guns, made them drop out of school, get felonies, and deal drugs. Entirely whitey's fault. I wish our local surgeons would just smother them with pillows instead of saving their worthless lives on taxpayers dime. The cost of the black race is incalculable.
ReplyDeleteBuild a police station. That will solve everything...
ReplyDeleteVery Cool.
ReplyDeleteAlright Kansas City.
We will show detroit who's boss.
You read my mind
DeleteForte going to tweet about it, then put in for overtime.
ReplyDeleteIt's time for a change. We need set an better example for our youth.Really the reason all this is going on,is to people making poor judgment.People need to value life and learn to respect each other.Have more respect for their self. It's up to us as people to make a difference in the world.
ReplyDeleteAnd you say we don't need gun control?
ReplyDeleteWith new missouri laws all of these people were probably within their rights to carry guns.
Should we stop them from being armed?
YES.
Wake up and realize that we need more gun regulations.
Go back to your safe place.
ReplyDeleteThis is so funny.
ReplyDeleteIf you were any more full of shit 3:56, you would explode. I'll guarantee you 80-100% of the baboons involved in this festival are already disqualified from possessing firearms, cannot pass a NICS check etc.
ReplyDeleteTheses people were shooting at each other, dumbass. Since that is illegal already, what makes you think FURTHER prohibiting them from having guns will accomplish anything?
Well, they have seen how well gun control has worked in cities like Chicago. We want to be just like them one day.
ReplyDelete3:56 we need more Negro control. If it had not been for St. Margaret Sanger and Planned Parenthood, there would be more parents in the hood and this situation would be worse.
ReplyDeleteFrom Newark NJ down to Memphis, over to Oakland. Too many ghetto minded temper tantrum punks, they will tear shit up. This ain't a KC problem, it's nation wide, n bringing us down explaining it away, pointless social programs n yes, time officers spend patrolling n even their lives
ReplyDeleteBlacks raise their kids on handouts and violence; then they blame whitey.

Where is Al Sharpton? ...oh yeah...he is all worried about Trump. So I guess BLM will be protesting at the Bros' houses? Naw, they are protesting Trump's election. So, I guess the Southern Christian Leadership Conference will be here soon? ....Oh yeah they are busy trying to take the American flags down at colleges. So, that means black crime stoppers has this under control? Oh, I forgot, There is no such thing as black crime stoppers. Damn, I guess black folks just don't give a shit about their own unless there is some white guy to blame, huh?
ReplyDeleteThis is the insanity that results from uncritically accepting the idea that race doesn’t matter.
ReplyDeleteThis story reminds me of driving down 63rd st by the 63rd st drive in and the streets were blocked by blacks. Had to take a right up into about 700 black youth. I said oh fuccccck, but I saw some cop lights on and I said well, can't be too bad. There was a party at a hall there and as I was going up the hill, this car load of black kids sitting on the window seals of the doors, just unloaded thier guns in the air as a black kid walking down the hill leaned up against my window and pulled out his gun as he emptied his clip of 15 to 17 shots into the air, his shells bouncing off my car as I leaned down in my seat. The cops came down with guns drawn cautiously. At that moment I said fuck this, call it way it is. Little black out of control savages. No fear. No worry about recourse. That's what we are living with, folks. And until we as a country, say it out loud and make it an issue, it will get worse.
ReplyDeleteAnyone else notice how bad crime in the urban core has gotten since Crooked Sly's been running the city.
ReplyDeleteNo problem city hall will together another committee on violence.
ReplyDeleteOK, some people can't afford to move. But all those people in KC who obviously can afford it ... what are they smoking?
ReplyDeleteThey're smoking a drug called diversity. But like all drugs, too much can cause serious problems, even death.
DeleteWas Mayor Elect Taylor on the scene? Did he take control and bring order to disorder?
ReplyDeleteNational Guard.
ReplyDeleteOnly one critically shot? Guess we can be thankful pesky negroes are such lousy shots.
ReplyDeleteWhen you hold a gun sideways, there's no way you can actually AIM it, ignorant animals.
I hope we can make it until January 1st. Gonna be kind of messy until the thug mofos figure out they are gonna have to change their ways.
ReplyDeleteFACTOID
ReplyDeleteSure looks like all those ANTI VIOLENCE Groups that KCMO Mayor Sly James funded is really working , Huh ???????
^^^ excellent point. Where's the so-called community outreach?
ReplyDeleteCrime is getting worse with Sly and Forte in charge. That is a fact.
ReplyDeleteDr Colin Kaperneck says Cuba has the most education. That is why they are so brilliant over there. The dumbass can't even throw a football to his own teammates yet he says he can solve all of our problems by taking a knee during a song. The same logic is applied by Sly- tweet a bit- hold a few marches- make a speech or two- show support for Carwash Cleaver- show how he has kept the murders lower than had he done nothing- take credit for keeping Carol Coe out of the headlines...
ReplyDeleteWhat can really be done? The country with the lowest crime has the answers.
You're a fucking idiot
ReplyDeleteI bet Alonzo will tweet the answer to all of this. He is such a positive person and has made such a huge difference in...well...as a self- made self-described crime-fighting community-organizer who doesn't need a cape ( but could use a book on grammar) he has done so much for us as a community that he really doesn't have time to do much else. Maybe he can tweet to someone who can tweet the answer so we can start appointing steering committee organizers that will figure it out. Maybe if they just have Alex Smith wear safety pins it will all work out.
ReplyDeleteBlack lives matter. Just not to other blacks.
ReplyDeleteSo tired of people being a$$holes.
ReplyDeleteWhite gun manufacturers are all conspiring to make blacks felons 'cause the hood rats gotta play with guns just like they see in the movies they sneak into.
ReplyDeleteI thought all KC needee was a Black Mayor and Police Chief and this type of thing would be reduced to anomaly, but it seems the reverse is true. It's a mainstay as long as we keep drinking the racially divisive koolaid.
ReplyDeleteIf Tony had been on the scene he would have just deleted the whole gun fight. He doesn't like them unless he instigates them.
ReplyDelete
