Full length movie recently posted in celebration of a local icon and the signature sound of this city.
A long awaited creative project that's earning quite a bit of early praise via social media:
Kansas City Dreamin’ (Music In Shadows)
Written, Produced, and Directed by Diallo Javonne French
Kansas City Dreamin' - Music In Shadows, explores Kansas City's musical pulse through the lens of photographer/filmmaker Diallo Javonne French. The film celebrates the career of jazz legend and Kansas City area native Bobby Watson while sharing stories of Kansas City's rich musical heritage
Take a look:
Developing . . .
This doesn't represent all of Kansas City Jazz.
ReplyDeleteWent out of his way to spotlight some people with multiple mentions.
Not including Kevin Mahogany is understandable.
He's become an embarrassment.
Not including local Jazzers like Mike Pagan, Mark Lowrey, Max Groove, Scotty McBee, Max Berry, James Albright, Paul Roberts, Rod Fleeman, Paul Evans, scores of other white KC pianists, guitarists and reed guys....All Jazz performers....kinda brutal.
^^^ Great mentions. I think the filmmaker did a good job but I like your list.
