TKC MUST READ!!! SOUTH KANSAS CITY ADVOCATE EXPLAINS WHY OVERLAND PARK RESIDENT SHOULDN'T SERVE OUT TERM ON THE HICKMAN MILLS SCHOOL BOARD!!!
Regarding a news story that appeared FIRST on our blog . . . Here's an EXCELLENT explanation of the situation from another local media outlet.

South Kansas City Advocate: No Accountability
Money line that offers more insight . . .
"Now, Dan Osman has moved to Overland Park but wants to finish out his term and the rest of the Board has agreed, at least until they figure out if he’s eligible. That, for any other board, should be a no brainer. While Osman technically still owns property in Hickman Mills because he hasn’t sold his house, the Board is overlooking MoRS 162.291 which states, “Each director shall be a voter of the district”. Also, they must not know their own policies which state, “Members of the Board of Education shall be citizens of the United States and resident tax-payers of the Hickman Mills C-1 School District”."
Again, this is important because it represents growing community concern over the fate of schools in and around South KC.
Developing . . .
The whole school board is a bunch of idiots. No wonder the district is in such sad shape.
ReplyDeleteIf you own property and still pay taxes would that not be one and the same as living there if you claim it as your primary residence?
ReplyDeleteLooks like an issue where Crico and Garza should be called in to provide some expert witness testimony.
ReplyDeleteYet another example of the fabulous political leadership available throughout Jackson County.
Is it good for the children?
is it a paid position?
ReplyDeletewhy would somene want to take guff and not just quit?
if you own property you pay taxes. pretty simple.
ReplyDeleteTony, you wouldn't know. Mommy still pays your personal property taxes, I take it.
Sort of reminds me of Tallboy and Rizzo. At least Osman admits to living outside the district.
ReplyDeleteIf he is a voter there then I guess it's ok.
ReplyDeleteHe can't vote in Kansas City and live in Overland Park.
