  1. If some fucking holy roller hassled me in a coffee joint, I would pour it in their fucking lap.

  4. I was skeptical of the Eleos business model at first but they're actually doing really great and they've expanded into the building next door. They provide coffee for many neighborhood events, their food is great, and it's a great place to have a meeting. They do a lot of great work in the neighborhood to the ire of some of the neighborhood associations who are trying to displace all of the poor and homeless folks out of our community. Eleos is like the Chamber Of Commerce for the Northeast faith based community.

  5. They do not proselytize unless you go to the organized groups. I have meetings there all the time and enjoy the environment AND the coffee.

  6. In the name of religion, people form real estate investment schemes and profitable businesses. This is not the first or only real estate acquisition business in the Northeast using this model. Buying cheap property in a depressed area and drawing in the rubes from outside to spend money then go back to their suburban homes is a great way to finance your retirement. Using devotees for little or no pay to work the farm (figuratively and literally) is no more than emotional slavery. I am not religious, but I am more conscientious than this.
