As always, we welcome every perspective on the streetcar given that it's a MAKE OR BREAK EFFORT transit effort for Kansas City.
We gratefully post this follow-up from an objective ryder who makes an important point about the political rhetoric surrounding the streetcar and its long term prospects.

Rode it again
Very crowded Saturday at 2:45pm.
Here's my takeaway: if it were dropped from the heavens for free I wouldn't hate it. If it is expanded south and aways I'll deal with it in my head and probably ride (ryde?) it. There's better uses for the money, though.
However, if it were not free, there wouldn't be a quarter of the ridership. And the extrademocratic method used to impose its construction has left (will leave?) a bad taste in my mouth.
Moreover many of its supporters are at least as repulsive as some of its opponents.
It's here, it's free for now, it sorta works. However, I oppose expansion.
