Former Asst. Jackson County Prosecutor Caleb Clifford is now Exec Frank White's Chief of Staff . . .

Former County Exec Chief of Staff Calvin Williford moved on and now serves as the honcho for the Rock Island Corridor . . . We reported that back in February and it FINALLY made the news a few days ago.

What does it all mean???

Mr. Clifford working for Exec Frank is probably a good sign and reveals the newbie politico earning a bit of autonomy from Team Mike.

A lot of our blog community don't know what to make of Caleb Clifford and for now we'll just say that he's a young dude who has some experience working with Missouri Democrats and has been a strident behind the scenes supporter of Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker, The KC Nova Program and Frank's rise to power.

Is this a hit for Team Mike??? Not as long as they remain on good terms with the County Counselor and the legislature UNDER THE ASTUTE LEADERSHIP OF CHAIR CRYSTAL WILLIAMS refuses to ask any more uncomfortable questions about the payouts for the new bike/trail transit corridor . . . BTW . . . When did the County Counselor get his own de facto private kingdom free from any kind of audit or analysis inside the courthouse??? Are we all cool with that???

Better still . . .

WE LOOK FORWARD TO THE COUNTY LEGISLATURE AND FRANK WHITE ASSURING MORE ACCOUNTABILITY FOR THE ROCK ISLAND VAPORWARE TRANSIT TRAIL . . . IT'S ONLY BEEN HALF A YEAR AND THOUSANDS WORTH OF CASH AWARDED AND WE HAVEN'T SEEN ANY REAL SIGN OF OVERSIGHT SO FAR!!!
