  1. Royals might do better if they would give Alex Gordon a raise.

  2. Just MAX'd back from visiting a friend downtown and dinner at Antons, then we rode streetcar to his place in RM. Agree that it was not the 'bridge and tunnel' crowd gawking on the choochoo train. It was mostly functional neighborhood vibe along the entire line.

There is no difference between bus/streetcar as a bus rider, but damn, the aura of the streetcar vibe at night and neighborhood weeknight activity is a completely different level that shouldn't be downplayed - on a Tuesday night. The pedestrian activity was very cool along the line... not event crowd but easy going neighborhood feel. Not just at the hotspots but also in obscure spots like gap between Library/River Market and Xroads to Union Station, steady flow of people everywhere along the line that was neighborhoody, not event people. Was soooo cool that I'm going to say it a 3rd time - downtown neighborhood activity, not event driven bridge/tunnel crowd will make this work beyond major events and lunchtime workers. It felt like I was in Seville or Lisbon again, on a typical weeknight with two streetcars passing in the night (though with too many surface lots). Fill those fuck'n surface lots now! I'm kinda drunk... will check back in tomorrow and sanity check this post.
