Just a bit of follow-up for Saturday and talks of a GOP convention that will embroiled in controversy, possible violence and protest from both Donald Trump supporters and detractors . . .
Preceding the so-called "days of rage" leading up to a Republican gathering that this town was lucky to have missed is a Kansas City connection . . .
TKC: Just wanted to tell you that April Foster isn't just "commie-trans" she's been portrayed as on Conservative blogs. She's actually a well-qualified professional with an amazing skill set. Take a look at her Linked-in page where she posted some of her resume. You'll find that she's more qualified than most working in local broadcast. You might want to consider directing your contacts to her or working with her."
The local media game is tough, and I know if somebody is coming to TKC for help . . . They're really in trouble. But we will acknowledge that both Conservatives and Liberals alike have been captivated by Ms. Foster and her Internets history . . .
Moreover . . . When talking about her arrest and recent conflict. Media left out the employment consequences of her protest.
Check the overlooked passage of her public testimony according to and transcribed by her protest group:
April Foster: "Now, losing one of my jobs is the real damage that I'm dealing with. KCPD unnecessarily came into my office 10 minutes before closing time on a Friday and snatched me up and held me in cuffs outside of the office building for everyone to see. They sent special press releases to all the local news stations on Saturday to stir up the PR mill. Journalists and others have since harassed my family, colleagues, fellow organizers and friends. With what we're up against - with the problems my generation is facing, the problems queer, black and brown people are facing - protesters in the streets that night had every damn right to be there. Thank you so much to everyone who's held my back during this ordeal. Peace and solidarity."
This is important because there is sure to be more conflict among Trump protesters and political activists should know that their are real consequences of participating in the political discourse and alleged horse slapping.
