A Kansas City East Side resident says:

"So much for East Patrol being the cure-all to violence. The building is a cover for much more sinister purposes . . . It's also noteworthy to mention that this is exactly one block east of the shooting that killed Jimmy, owner of The Green Duck . . . Also directly in front of the house of an 'elder' belonging to the church that touted this construction project."

East Patrol came in $20 MILLION over budget and was widely touted by some community leaders and politicos but met with widespread cynicism and some protest from neighbors.

Meanwhile, on the first day of Spring it seems that a temporary halt to the local murder count now threatens to escalate.

Updated with this info: "Your tipster last night who reported the "death investigation" near East Patrol pulled out their "Jump to Conclusions Mat" when they saw crime scene tape.

"No death occurred and it was an assault with possible evidence outside. A lot of the time police put up crime scene tape as a mere barrier to keep pedestrians away rather than other speculation by the public."
