Money quote . . .
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - The number of older Americans serving prison sentences is on the rise, and those facilities weren't originally designed to accommodate an aging population.
Linda Redford is director of the Central Plains Geriatric Education Center at the University of Kansas.
She says Missouri is one state that has gotten ahead of the curve, by setting up enhanced-care units in some of the larger prisons and in some cases, people in prison are learning health-care skills by helping take care of each other . . .

ReplyDeletePerhaps the solution would be to go back 30 years and take all of those misdemeanours that were made felonies and make them misdemeanours again. The public was not served by this. In fact the whole reason this trend has taken place is because bureaucrats are too fucking lazy to work. We have done nothing except made the country a little less in the freedoms department.
ReplyDeleteWe are sending people to prison for such vile crimes as breaking out street lights, pissing in an alley and calling some cunt a cunt on the internet. Pretty sad we build prisons to house dumb asses petty shit heads.

In a fragile MODOC system funnels a lot of money to CORIZON Medical Corporation (See The Documentary). The reality is there is no intention to build nursing homes in prison. Last week a prisoner who earned two PhD's inside the wall fell off the top bunk and died due to complications. The prisoner's name was Marc Taylor. Jon Marc Taylor spoke the truth and kept his integrity during his years of incarceration. Taylor earned a PhD, published a book and fought the justice system from the inside for other prisoner. Dr. Jon Marc Taylor died in prison two day after Christmas.
