TKC EXCLUSIVE AND BREAKING NEWS!!! FEAR THE SINGLE-TERMINAL CONSPIRACY!?! CITY HALL WON'T EVEN LISTEN TO KANSAS CITY AIRPORT RENOVATION PLAN!!!
Sadly, the Aviation Department and most of Kansas City's elite have already decided on a single-terminal plan for a new airport and the only real work that remains is convincing the voting public who has already had a negative reaction toward the project and worked to put the plan public vote despite the best efforts of City Hall.
But here's another way that the local ruling class are rigging this important civic decision . . .
CITY HALL REFUSES TO LISTEN TO ANY OTHER ALTERNATIVE THAN THE SINGLE-TERMINAL OPTION . . . CRAWFORD ARCHITECTS CAN'T EVEN SCHEDULE A PRESENTATION TO EXPLAIN THEIR PLAN TO RENOVATE THE AIRPORT!!!
Here's how bad it is . . .
A council committee led by a member of Team Sly brought in a consultant on aviation's payroll to shoot down the plan without offering a chance for the other side to make their case.
Very much like a trial in absentia, this local biz was rejected without so much as a meeting.
Again, here's a look at the airport renovation plan that offers much more detail than anything City Hall has put before the pubic.
Even better, after the rejection of this local small biz without even a public meeting, Crawford Architects offered a point-by-point answer to all of the concerns from the Aviation Dept. consultant and pretty much pleaded to make their case before a council committee.
Not so long ago, Mayor Sly James said he wanted to foster an "adult" conversation on the airport that was mostly an excuse for a rigged series of boring public meetings wherein a great many political cronies did whatever they were told . . .
Now, the City Hall effort is beyond the point of even pretending to listen to the public. What's disappointing is that Crawford has the beginnings of a solid plan on the table but some council-members and the mayor's office are more inclined to write a blank check for the new terminal sight unseen.
Local small biz dismissed without consideration is just another sign that the current Administration has their minds made up and now refuses to listen to any other option than the single-terminal that's a sketchy project according to most residents in Kansas City
That's the way it's done in KC.
ReplyDeleteThe only upside to this project is that we're talking about billions of dollars. They did the same thing with the street car but the theft of a few hundred million was easier to pull off with only 300 votes in a specially crafted district.
This has to be the next big ripoff City Hall has on it's agenda next to a toy train extension for 2016.
ReplyDeleteIt's a glorified bus station
ReplyDelete@5:42 Very good point. All this crap and most of us want to spend as little time there as possible. I like our airport more than the 20 or so I have been to. I haven't picked up one person from that airport that didn't like it. I think they should fix only what needs to be fixed and give up on this whole new airport idea.
ReplyDeleteGive it up Teresa, your buddies aren't going to get the contract and you aren't getting a kick back this time around. Sorry that makes your return to city council a waste of time, but at least you got to get out your old-lady-out-on-the-town animal print clothes a couple times.
ReplyDeletePS - Do the firemen know you sold them out yet?
