Charles Wheeler is pushing 90-years-old and he's still mulling over his options for political office.

After a very public foreclosure fight and some of his personal items put up for auction this longtime Kansas City political stalwart isn't giving up the fight.

To wit . . .

THAT'S RIGHT!!! FORMER KANSAS CITY CHARLES WHEELER COULD SOON ENTER THE ALREADY CROWDED RACE FOR GOVERNOR!!!

Credit where it's due, the guy still gets around and has been talking about his upcoming run for Governor with local community leaders and other old school gatherings filled with the last remaining people who still vote.

This might be all fun and games until Democratic Party strategists consider his name recognition and contacts to longtime campaigners. Like it or not, the Koster for Missouri will be forced to take this one seriously amid scarce resources for the upcoming campaign.

    Wheelers lost his chance at being governor back in the early '80s. Teasdale bombed and the state went crawling back to Kit Bond. Even then no way Wheeler was going to win.

    His family and friends need to stop this, now. In his old age, Wheeler is destroying his legacy by the ramblings of a confused, senile man. He is not, and will not, be a candidate for Govenor. Too bad the media is exploiting him for "news". Really, really a shame.

    Last DECENT mayor Kansas City had. Since he was in that chair, there have been nothing but a succession of criminals.

    Running for Gov of Missouri? Um, I dunno. I saw him in a nice restaurant a couple years ago and thought he was a corpse. A decent guy and not a criminal, but probably too old, and would have too many sneaky bastards just undermining him for his entire term.
