On the eve of Super Tuesday it's clear that the Kansas City Star and their coven of editorialists are getting nervous about the growing support for presidential candidate Donald Trump.
To be fair, the GOP can't cope with it either:
Washington Post: The Republican Party’s implosion over Donald Trump’s candidacy has arrived
Still, the Kansas City Dead Tree Media seems to be coming unhinged when writing about so much love for Donald Trump rising among politicos.
Our favorite Latina hack Mary Sanchez offers the latest screed:
Beware, Donald Trump, Kris Kobach needs you more than you need him
Money line:
"Recall that Kobach helped deep-six the presidential campaign of Mitt Romney. He’s credited with duping the GOP nominee into believing that illegal immigration can be solved by self-deportation. That’s the theory that making life as unbearable as possible for undocumented migrants will convince them to return to their native countries en masse.
It’s a false notion, one from which the GOP later distanced itself. But Trump doesn’t have a clue about immigration policy; how it works, how it goes astray and the solid fixes necessary for our broken system . . ."
The column goes on to offer more backhanded compliments and outright attacks of anti-immigration policy that's meeting with a tremendous amount of support in the midst of the seemingly failed mainstream GOP effort to win back with White House by way of faux Latinos.
A KICK-ASS TKC READER informs us that it's just going to be worse . . .
Amid the Heartland and among the many people in KCK, and their ilk, who enjoy watching left turns all afternoon, this endorsement is even more important that politics:
The Hill: NASCAR CEO, race car drivers endorse Trump
"The GOP front-runner Donald Trump announced the support from NASCAR CEO Brian France at a rally in Valdosta, Ga. Retired driver Bill Elliott and current drivers Chase Elliott, Ryan Newman and David Lee Regan are also backing the real estate mogul."
Like it or not, the Trump campaign seems to be rolling over the competition and rather than reporting or trying to explain or understand the phenomena . . . Their writers seem to be working to offer dead tree media roadblocks that are easily maneuvered by so many fans fueling this Trump trend.
Developing . . .
I will agree with you about one thing. Nascar means more than Kobach. That's why trump took both, he knows politics and what people really care about.
ReplyDeleteYet more proof that Mary Sanchez is a rock with lips, totally devoid of any sort of intelligence.
ReplyDeleteJess jealous of Mary Sanchez, 'cause she's smarter than you.
ReplyDeleteYep, NASCAR, where each race is officially opens with a Christian prayer, the National Anthem and (if lucky) patriot pilots in a flyover right before the announcement "Racers, start your engines!" Race events are big time family fun and real big money that MAKES AMERICA GREAT!
ReplyDelete^Gearheads^. Yep, lets have NASCAR fans decide the election.
ReplyDeleteTrump loves the poorly educated.
9:43 I thought you were being facetious there for a second. I could do without the prayer meeting being an atheist and not knowing what the heck a deity could care about a car race but I give it a wash just knowing this many people are in one place and actually caring about everyone in general. I don't get nascar but I like Unlimited Air racing. It faster, more powerful and only available in a few areas because the thrill of flying is long gone baby. Going round in circles, still popular.
ReplyDeleteKCStar? Don't they have a lyric opera to fawn over or maybe some other dead art style. perhaps the modern art crowd and get together and swoon over a picture of hillary with the word Forward under it made out of rare exotic bird feces of course. You know, something the star would be interested and supportive of.
If deadbeats don't vote, let them suffer.
ReplyDelete9:54 What are you a fan of ?
ReplyDeleteWord has it Kobach is going to make Tony help build the wall on his own time.
ReplyDeleteI love hearing people speak about the "poorly educated ".
ReplyDeleteI love classical music, the arts, museums and I go to the ballet
But since I have only a high school diploma and drive a pickup truck, I must be some kind of low life
Anything that upsets the uber-cunt Megyn Kelly and the loathsome bible-waving gargoyle Ted Cruz I am in favor of.
ReplyDeleteTrump 2016.
NASCAR jumping in here while it might not be as big a deal in Kansas City, it will be a bigger deal east and south-east of Kansas City. NASCAR is big money and operates from huge dollar payments from Corporate America. I think we are starting to see a shift in how America is thinking and what they are tired of. Now I am not saying Trump might be the best person to be in office, but he is fresh basically has a non-political background and is not a child from the normal political machines of past. Is America sending a message to organized political ran organizations saying we are tired of the games and piles of horsecrap you keep shoveling our way?

ReplyDeleteTrump wins.
ReplyDeleteSuperdave. This may not be the year where things change politically but they will change. While I think sanders is unelectable he represents the future of the democrat party. Trump is a product of twenty years of pent up outrage on the part of republican voters. Hillary may be the last democrat of her kind to run, but I think trump is going to be the biggest wake up call the GOP ever had. Win or lose the GOP is finished
ReplyDeleteI support NASCAR and I support Trump.
ReplyDeleteGod Bless America. We are taking it back.
Can't argue with that none Silvestor.
ReplyDeleteBoth sides can't seem to accept the fact that people are sick of the establishment and its failures, which is why Donald Trump is so popular & could possibly win the presidency. See you guys at the inauguration of Trump
ReplyDeleteFurther proof Americans are the dumbest people on Earth.
ReplyDeleteBetter title: left turns support Trump!
ReplyDeleteTrump will win both MO & KS
ReplyDeleteTrump will win, period. You can go down kicking and screaming that the GOP is through if you vote for Trump, but some people believe, within the moderate conservative ranks that he will save the party. Most of us are just as tired of the far right wingnuts as we are of their twins from another mother, Democrat wingnuts.
ReplyDeleteI wish our nominee was smoother and more diplomatic in public as long as he kicked ass in private. I wish he had the ability to both tell people to STFU and do it himself now and then. I wish Rubio didn't remind me of a younger Obama. I wish Cruz wasn't such a earth scorcher. I wish Carly would have smiled more and Jeb would have been the first Bush to run because I think he would have been the best of the Bush's. I like Ben, I wish he was more qualified and knowledgeable. As they say, wish in one hand and you know what in the other.
After all that I would rather have a flawed big mouth who actually isn't having words put in his mouth by contributors or cutting deals for 20% of what he promised. Instead Dems have one of questionable ethics or judgement and one who fancies himself Santa Claus. Can't wait for the post election line for Bernie money and the laughs we will have at the expense of those who thought everything is free now.
Say hello to President Trump, our only candidate who is not part of the political process we loathe. We will see how that turns out.
