Don't pay any attention to all the hoopla and hype during the rollout and free food giveaways.
ReplyDeleteTake a look at the ridership, operations, and maintenance about eight months from now.
And you'll find that, much like everything else owned and operated by the city, the streetcar will have become yesterday's news, managed by an unelected board more interested in their self-importance and their own financial benefits, run by employees who couldn't care less or know anything about customer service, and left long behind by the electeds as they run off in search of the NEXT BIG THING.
Take a good look at maintenance at the KCI terminal and the state of the water and sewer systems, not to mention the roads and sidewalks.
All aboard!
defining moment when a traffic jam backs up for miles.

"The praising of — and caterwauling about — the new downtown streetcar system won’t end May 6."
cat·er·waul
verb gerund or present participle: caterwauling
(of a cat) make a shrill howling or wailing noise.
"the caterwauling of a pair of bobcats"
Please excuse the Kansas City Star Editorial Board for this poor journalistic practice of "word overreach"!!
It's Friday, and they haven't yet received their payoff money for providing constant PR propaganda for City Hall, so they're a little flustered.
Did someone say this thing was gonna be in time to celebrate shingles de mayo?
ReplyDeleteDefining for whom I'd like to know?
ReplyDeleteNazi Byron. It's 11:30 in the slums of Clarksburg. Do you know who supports you? Get ready.
ReplyDeleteCoward 10:40
ReplyDeleteI have no idea what you're talking about.
I call people Nazi's who think I should be shot, or call on me to shoot myself, or think I should be imprisoned for being on disability, like NaziDave.
I love how you people threaten me, & then claim you aren't stalking me. Being threatened by an anonymous coward is pathetic.
Here's some more of your 'free speech', Tony, by the animals you encourage.
You stalk us you idiot, you're the one not from around here. If you're going to quote the law, at least, pay a lawyer to advise you before you open your mouth.
ReplyDeleteOh, and you also stalked your brother, as defined by the law.
ReplyDeleteWell done Byron, You just admitted you are on disability. . You are a punk thief that lives in the asshole of Clarksburg. Like you, just a simple search shows what rat holes you live in. Good thing you only have a 3.5% black pop there.
ReplyDeleteTell us Heather, how did your KCPD husband, an officer for 20 years, finally get a promotion to sergeant ten minutes after your election. something stinks!
ReplyDeleteAmazing that people are dumb enough to park their cars on the rails. Time will tell how this all works out.
ReplyDeleteStill struggling with those stages of loss Tony?
ReplyDeleteYour U-Haul should be able to make it through that rail passing.
But that credit card of yours was rejected again. You will need to leave a cash deposit.
Mean Jean is yummy. I'd do her like a lady deserves to be treated.
ReplyDeleteCaint wate to git sum hobo love onde toye traen.

ReplyDeleteKCMO will soon be smelling more urine with the launching of the regions first Mobile Homeless Shelter.
And that is certainly worth the celebration.
