Kansas City politics is a strange mistress and tonight we celebrate a local Latina who continues to grind despite election disqualification amid a divisive campaign and a myriad of other issues that aren't as fun to gloat over . . . But I digress.
To wit . . .
RIGHT NOW WE CELEBRATE THE REEMERGENCE OF THERESA GARZA AS A POLITICAL PLAYER IN KANSAS CITY WITH HER DEBUT ON RUCKUS!!!
Never mind that Council Lady Teresa Loar's appearance is probably far more important and discusses airport issues that mean a lot more to this town in terms of impact and cost.
Credit where it's due . . . This evening Ruckus offers the most important Kansas City political discussion this evening.
Description:
"Mike Shanin talks to KCMO City Councilwoman Teresa Loar about the new renovation plan for KCI which she proposed. Then Gwen Grant, Patrick McInerney, Theresa Garza and Steve Mirakian give their thoughts on the new airport renovation proposal, decentralizing control of KCMO schools, new KCMO School Superintendent Mark Bedell and the race for the GOP nomination for president."
You decide . . .
Hopefully, more for the morning update . . .
Give your old pal credit TKC, she's out there doing her best and working for a good cause this time around. CCO is a great organization and the work they do helps all of the community.
ReplyDeleteI like the new format of Ruckus. This show really makes me want to vote for the earnings tax and Charles Wheeler.
ReplyDeleteGreat stuff!
Shhhh, I'm writing important jokes for Twitter during the debate.
ReplyDeleteWhat are CCO's policies on unsolicited bulk e-mail?
ReplyDeleteIt was a good show, I felt like it really gave me confidence about my decision to move to Denver.
ReplyDeleteLike a deported illegal alien she's trying to sneak back in.

ReplyDeleteHA! I see what you did there!
Why don't they put in a bowling alley
ReplyDeleteWhinny rich mother fuckers
ReplyDeleteWelcome to ROASTING IN HELLUCKUS!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat weekly public television Liberal Politics indoctrination exercise in which they operate with a permanent skewed panel of 3 Liberal Democrats to 1 Conservative Republican/Libertarian. Hey! You got a problem with that? Take it up with our Starbucks-sipping, Prius-driving, Hillary-supporting, JoCo-dwelling, KCPT leadership team!
Holy Commonsense Batman! This Theresa Loar is entirely too smart, plain-spoken, and practical to represent our city. I mean, what was that nonsense about acting prudently with fiscal responsibility when using taxpayer dollars? Who does she think she is? Mayor Sly should appoint her Commissioner of Siberian Studies.
Panel
Theresa Garza--disgraced Democrat WTF? You know, I was just thinking last week that Ruckus producers obviously don't know any Latinos, but this wasn't what I had in mind.
Gwen Grant--Uber Democrat, liberal group-thinker, back from hiatus.
Patrick McInerney--Democrat machine politics, will never say anything critical of Mayor James dysfunctional administration.
Steve Mirakian--elite Republican Guard, champion defender of all that is just.
TERMINAL ISSUE--McInerney apes the Mayor's words, expressing a strong desire to spend KCMO dollars to impress non-residents (just like the convention center hotel proposal). Mirakian shines, and Gwen hops aboard the winning talking point. Ah! Host Shanin asks THE question--who are we building the airport for? Out-of-towners or residents?
KCPS DISTRICT (see Terminal diagnosis)--Gwen scores a solid hit on this one. Theresa reads from prepared notes. McInerney offers a plea deal for Gwen to run the district. Mirakian returns the earlier compliment from Gwen, and they agree to team up into an Ebony/Ivory debate duo. Shanin laments that $2 billion just doesn't buy you what it use to!
TRUMP CHUMP?--Mirakian channels a Dennis Miller-style rant against the Republican establishment for allowing a possible Hillary presidency through their mismanagement! The other three are left slack-jawed and speechless. Mirakian presses on, with his finger on the public's pulse explaining "they're mad as hell!"
The ladies offer Toasts, while the three men send flaming Roasts.
Note to Justice Shanin: While court was in session, noticed you admitted that your panel is routinely packed with 3 liberal jurists, and but 1 conservative. Guess you must have been under oath at the time? Please remember that the scales of justice are intended to balance out. So, can I expect a 2016 year of consistent appearances by 3 Republicans to 1 Democrat? The pendulum was designed to swing back to opposite extremes during alternating cycles.
When's Tony going to be on so he can proclaim his superiority related to free speech?
ReplyDeleteNever mind.

ReplyDelete"Steve Mirakian--elite Republican Guard, champion defender of all that is just."
I stopped reading when I reached this point. WTF, yourself.
"Theresa Garza--disgraced Democrat ..."
Being ruled unqualified is hardly a disgrace. I've no doubt that she is a much better person than you are. I have more faith in the integrity of any muddle class Latina, than any muddle class white man.
Was that picture taken 20 years ago?
ReplyDeletebyron you live in West Virginia. How do you know Steve Mirakian? You don't and you are talking out of your ass. as usual.
ReplyDeleteare you really the mayor's son?
Like most modern anti-free speech Robespierres, Byron admits he stops reading/listening when he encounters a viewpoint other than his own.
ReplyDeleteThe statute of limitations run out for her recent frauds or did her adviser just tell her hey people are idiots here and can't even remember what they had for breakfast give it another shot.
ReplyDeletePeople actually take this show seriously around here?
ReplyDeleteYes it's one of the many reasons why no matter how much money Sly spends and how much future debt we get stuck with because of his lack of discipline we are known as
ReplyDeleteFLYOVER COUNTRY

Dead on the money.
Doesn't McInerney have a brief to write in defense of another guilty as hell politician?
ReplyDeleteAnd, how could the virulently Pro-Life Mr. Shanin let Greasy Garza go without asking her about her serial use of "Abortion Rights" when she was in the Navy? Pre-coital forms of contraception just proved to difficult for the girl to use.
Where is Alonzo's follow up beef with Olathe PD?
ReplyDeleteByron, I usually agree with you and I am impressed by how closely you follow the news in KC -- but you are wrong on Theresa Garza. She is disgraced.
ReplyDeleteTheresa not only did not pay her taxes, which may or may not have been a mistake but she engaged in fraud. Theresa filed multiple legal documents in which she knowingly misstated her place of residence in order to mislead elections officials. Fraud is a crime in Missouri. She might also have committed perjury when she signed at least one of those documents, and made false statements in testimony before the court which heard her plea to appear on the ballot. The county prosecutor, or state attorney generals office should have prosecuted Theresa to the fullest extent of the law. The US Department of Justice should investigate both of those offices to find out why charges were never filed.
7:31 the point being, is Byron likes people who thinks and operates like he does. So her committing fraud is something Byron can relate to.
ReplyDeleteThe fact you agree with Byron on anything speaks volumes about your character as well. In short, you're just another loser.
