It's always nice to see a bit of gamesmanship betwixt Kansas City media genres. And like it or not, Mr. Parks nails it with this bit of homespun media analysis . . .
Dear TV news people,
Please stop with the dumb-ass "what you need in your car when it's this cold" stories. I live in a town of 2+ million people. All I need in my car if I'm stuck on the side of the road in this weather is a f**king phone.
With respect,
Scott Parks

Point well taken . . . And maybe a reminder to carry around an extra phone charger today.
More in a bit . . .
Scott's a dildo. Dana is a hyena. Biggest waste of anybody's time, ever. Greg Knapp stands tall over these useless bags of air.
ReplyDeleteThey cut Darla loose and leave Dana on the air. What a bunch of shit!
ReplyDeleteDana is your standard issue loudmouthed midwestern broad.
ReplyDeleteThe "Gail's Harley Davidson" of local BROADcasters.
Greg Knapp is missing a few dots, something just isnt right about him.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if greg is just a character, how is anyone that negative, daily .
The worst decision was Zach Burns show trends.
Every time Zach opens his mouth a purse falls out.
Bob Fesco ,if only he could live up to his own ego.
I knew Darla was bumped off to AM radio oblivion. I didn't know she left the station. I hope she left on her own.
ReplyDeleteThat lineup change/split was stupid. Bumping Weir and Jaye off for a 5th hour of already redundant news (and the commercials!!!) then four hours of tripe that is that midday show was, well, stupid. I tuned in on the first day and they were having a "riveting" conversation with a stay at home daddy. Any attempt to catch Weir was thwarted by college basketball preemptions (can't believe he's putting up with that).
....and a heated butt plug just in case you run into Tony out there.
ReplyDeleteHis station is just as bad when they roll out Operation Storm Watch. "Don't go outside if you don't have to", "dress in layers", "stay away from windows", "don't stand outside looking up at the rain with your mouth open".
ReplyDeleteDarla was the solo conductor of her being let go at Entercom. Over inflated egos and greed has a habit of making that happen radio now days. Call up Johhny Dare and ask him how bad his last pay cut was.
ReplyDeleteTrue to some extent. Local TV news people have become product pushers more then anything else these days.
ReplyDeleteFire Dana, bring back Darla dumbass.
ReplyDeleteCome on, Dare pulls in 250k a year... Not bad for a guy with only a GED.
ReplyDeleteI know Parks personally, guy is a womanizing alcoholic tool.
ReplyDeleteHe makes a reasonable point. The "what to carry" pieces on the local news are filler segments designed to give the station another minute or two of extreme weather coverage. Local news gave up trying to report on real news stories a long time ago and now chooses to pander to lowest-common-denominator viewers who tune in to fret over whatever the latest danger is. That's why they all devote so much time to weather events that are seldom as dire as they are portrayed, and why they all devote more and more time to "problem solver" type segments.
ReplyDeleteDana and Parks is horrible radio. They used to have a good political talk show. Then Wright came in and of course, they turned it into Dare and Murphy light.
ReplyDeleteParks is a lush, meathead with ugly man syndrome, that of course goes well with his huge scar on his face. Wright is airhead, aging beauty queen who has gained more than a few pounds over the years. Zoo radio for the AM dial. A Meathead Rhino and a low information reporter who got by on her looks.
I can't believe I'm doing this, but I miss the days of Tom Becka and Jerry Agar. At least they knew what in the world they were doing.
But it's sad that New Boss kept these losers but got rid of Darla Jaye. And from the looks of their website they won't be replacing her with another host any time soon.
No wonder Gregg Knapp is gaining ground on them.
They can't handle criticism either. I was banned from the KMBZ Facebook page because I commented that I always change to music when this show comes on.
ReplyDeleteScott Parks is probably KC's Biggest Tool.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of, does anyone have any spare Tool tickets for Wednesday?
