Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback And Tax Cutting Tactics Continually Touted As Miserly Every Month Of The Year

Gov. Brownback has played the bad guy for more than a year after his reelection against some empty suit who was defeated soundly. Meanwhile, just about every Dead Tree Media columnist in the nation has taken aim at the embattled politico. The reality is that Gov. Brownback and his tax cuts might be responsible for helping job growth in Kansas but, again, he is the symbol for progressive rage that seems aghast over the mere thought of lowering taxes and possibly threatening the social safety net.

And so, all these characters inspire our scrooge-y playlist tonight as we speed toward yet another broke-ass x-mas.

As always, thanks for reading this week and have a fun and SAFE Saturday night.

  1. A non partisan list. I like that some Democrats are being called out as scrooges. Usually, the media just labels any conservative as a grinch.

I'm not fan of trump but if you look at KC, you will see some very scrooge like characters like the Mayor who keeps giving his lawyer friends all the city's money.

  2. way of the world, people without money will always hate those who have it.

  6. This is the real list of the power elite. Why just make believe that you run the place when you can actually OWN the town.
Be sure to vote to renew the e-tax.
    It's important.

  8. ^^^^^^^^ No Shit.....

That fucking Skippy. Thought he was in jail.

  9. Burke stands head and shoulders above the rest as a no money scam artist!!! Show me your money, Burke, before you ask for over $150 Million from KC taxpayers!!!

  10. You, guys don't know what's good. Until your company charges a quarter a billion a year to kcmo, you're small town. Sorry.

  11. 11:59 pm you are absolutely correct. Someone needs to become a scrooge with the KC taxpayer dollars. Burke, and all of the other hand picked political friend developers and "pre-developers" that get paid millions for doing nothing...need to be stopped in their tracks. Citizens and taxpayers in this City have been ripped off for years through the City Hall/EDC corrupt machine with the no-bid contracts. When exactly was the bidding opportunity for persons interested in developing the downtown hotel???? It was a no-bid- back room----or over the lunch deal to provide revenue streams to political friends and supporters of the City Hall/EDC Machine.

  12. "Gov. Brownback has played the bad guy for more than a year after his reelection against some empty suit who was defeated soundly. Who writes this pap? "...some empty suit who was defeated soundly." Check the election results again bub, but Sambo didn't win by a huge margin. Then there's this genuis statement not at all supported by any facts other than the ones you pull out of your bung hole: "The reality is that Gov. Brownback and his tax cut MIGHT BE RESPONSIBLE for helping job growth in Kansas..."(Emphasis added). You could just as well put in "sort of", "maybe" or "possibly". Second, what job growth in Kansas? The whole piece is fantasy b.s.
