After Tax Break Kansas City Dead Tree Media Stopped Counting Homicides In 2015



Local media watchers should note that The Star earns tax subsidy from Kansas City to the tune of about $20 MILLION and counting . . . So when every tax increase and all of the top politicos strangely escape criticism . . . Even a leader of a major legislative body is allowed to run from office like a thief in the middle of the night without any tough questions . . . This bit of corporate subsidy is part of the reason why.

But tax talk can get boring, so lets get real . . .

OUR TKC BLOG COMMUNITY SUGGESTS THAT ONE CONSEQUENCE OF A FINANCIALLY CONFLICTED MEDIA IS THAT IMPORTANT OF MURDER STATS HAVE BEEN IGNORED!!!

Take a look at "Homicide KC" . . . It's a valiant effort from the KC Star which attempted to provide info on all the local murders and it hasn't been updated in since about June.

Like it or not, the newspaper simply isn't committed to talking about homicide in Kansas City. A lot of the reason is that the numbers embarrass politicos who are desperate to wash the blood from their hands. This year the carnage was so horrific that some of the top players started blaming guns and Republican from rural Missouri for problems of the urban core . . . A shameless tactic that not even their die-hard supporters are willing to endorse.

Right now the KCMO murder count stands @ 106 and while politicos were more than willing to take credit for a reduction last year . . . This time around the stats are so embarrassing that even the newspaper has stopped reporting the reality of this deadly town.
