TKC BREAKING NEWS SUNDAY SPECIAL!!! FORMER NORTHLAND COUNCIL LADY DEB HERMAN STANDS UP FOR CITY MANAGER TROY SCHULTE!!! WHAT DOES THIS NOD MEAN FOR KANSAS CITY???
Deb Herman is a well-respected former Council Lady and current power broker across the bridge in the Kansas City Northland.
Accordingly, here's the latest statement of support of City Manager Troy Schulte as the council is sitting on his contract and making all of his friends sweat.
Checkit:
Deb Herman Seyz: "I have worked, in one capacity or another, with City Hall for thirty years. Kansas City government is more responsive than ever while operating with very limited resources. Schulte has done an excellent job! Keep Calm and Carry On."
The nod is heartfelt and straight forward but behind the scenes things CLEARLY aren't so nice.
To wit . . .
THIS SOCIAL MEDIA CALL TO ACTION FROM A FORMER COUNCIL LADY SIGNALS THAT FRIENDS CITY MANAGER TROY SCHULTE ARE SCARED OF GETTING THE BOOT AND IN A RUSH TO RALLY SUPPORT!!!
A line in the sand has now been drawn . . . Or at least another example of common Kansas City divisions coming into play.
Highlights . . .
- The fight for Troy Schulte could become a white vs. Black debate . . . Most urban core and minority districts are less happy about the level of city services.
- Firing Troy Schulte is a POWER MOVE from the new city council . . . A united City Council could make Mayor Sly seem silly while begging for votes.
- No shortage of enemies for Mr. Schulte . . . Remember that he rose to power as part of a so-called "palace coup" and longtime bureaucrats are still angry about the Northland power move which kicked out the move development savvy City Manager in favor Mr. Schulte's more amenable style.
- The job is not a place for longevity . . . It's a miracle the City Manager has lasted this long.
Like it or not, this is a fight for who really runs this city and it might have been a clumsy move for the City Manager's buddies to be out there rallying support so eagerly and so early . . . Making a divisive issue out of what could have been a quiet series of insider deals.
Developing . . .
Troy will win.
ReplyDeleteBut it will cost him.
Dearly.
Hahaha! What a sick joke local politics has become here in this city. We're now in the midst of a slow motion political train wreck.
ReplyDeleteHell hole
ReplyDeleteStay numb, and keep the curtains closed when your home.
What are her views on unsolicited bulk email?
ReplyDeleteIs Captain Taco still in closet?
ReplyDeleteKay Barnes wasn’t very popular in her second run and barely beat my dad, Stan Glazer.
ReplyDeleteTroy is the best conniver I have ever seen. He can fain loyalty to someone, then throw them under the bus within the same afternoon. The ones loyal to him are the ones that make him feel special about himself. It's fun to watch their behavior recently when the small of change is in the air.
ReplyDeleteEmpty suit. Big one at that.
If Herman is weighing in, it's because Troy is trying to garner support. He knows his next job is an 80K budget manager.
Maybe she should run for Mayor.
ReplyDeleteThis whole trash heap house of cards is going to collapse on somebody. She's looks robust enough to take it.
Clean the place out from top to bottom and try it again people.
ReplyDeletePeople in this town just can't go quietly. Deb Herman is a political loser still trying to influence people decades after being a City Councilperson. It goes to show that the height of a career in Kansas City is landing a City Council position and that's nothing to celebrate given the commonsense of the average KC voter. She's straight outa influence, relevance and she lost in the last election. Kansas City is loser central. All aboard!
ReplyDeleteUnsolicited opinions, and endorsements, are worth the price paid: nothing. For the first time in years, the city council has responsible representation for the northland. Let's not roll back the clock with these retreads and handmedown politicians.
ReplyDeletewho's Craig , better yet who's Stan ?
ReplyDelete10:31 the northland rolled back the clock with Loar.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone know the answer to 8:49?
ReplyDeleteKCMO has WAY too much small-time politics by D-list celebrity wannabees, and no where near enough actual local municipal government that pays some attention to the people who actually live here and the basic services that they pay for and deserve.
ReplyDeleteBread and circuses!
Thanks for playing.
Is there such a thing as solicited bulk mail?
ReplyDeleteHerman is weighing in because Troy helped her get situated in the over $100,000 job at the northland community agency, which the city funds. Follow the money. (a position for which she was not qualified to hold). This is insurance to keep the money flowing to the position. This is political payback to Troy.
ReplyDeleteDeb Hermann is a dedicated, ethical, and good community servant. We need more people like her.

DeleteDeb Herman conspired with Troy to have Wayne Cauthen removed and to have Troy moved up to Interim City Manager in return for the creation of the highly paid position for her to move into when she left the council. it is called political conspiracy, unethical and political payback.
ReplyDeleteTroy Schulte/Deb Herman are both lower than a snake fulla buckshot crawling in a wagon rut.
ReplyDeleteDidn't the mayor force the rules so Shulte no longer crafts the budget except with the mayor's graces? So, why is Schulte the fall guy?
ReplyDeleteMr. Tony,
ReplyDeleteMy! These elected folk sure don't know how to do a good job of "smoke and mirrors"!
The Mayor has the budget! It is in his grasping hands.
The real question is will the council members follow the smoke and help create a non-issue with replacing the city manager? Or will they actually look out for the city?
The ball is in their court.
Schute still crafts the budget (behind the scenes) as everyone he has put in place --top city positions) are his long time friends who will "dance to Troy's" music. They know that if he goes---they will be gone as well.
ReplyDeleteCity politics is corrupted to hell and fucked up.
ReplyDeleteIt's that simple.
If I remember correctly, she didn't even have a degree when she lost her last council race. If she really makes $100k - that is a lot of money for a high school grad mom-turned-politician. I think she did a good job for the term she was on council; but I'm not sure anyone could do enough to deserve that many leaps up the ladder from holding a city office. I doubt she really makes 100k.
ReplyDelete^^^Says a Black elitist who thinks their college degree guarantees a certain wage or income. Lot's of 'tards in position of authority hold degrees and well, it didn't help them much other than being added piece of paper.

DeleteYes she makes over $100,000 thanks to her deal with Troy..Do a FOIA to check for yourself the records of the non-profit agency and the City.
ReplyDeleteHow many millions has the city spent on lawsuits of ex employees that Troy let go because of "budget reductions" when in fact it was personal. I had an attorney tell me that Troy lied on the stand and was the most unethical person he had ever seen.
ReplyDeleteLet's not forget the first thing that Schulte did as city manager was to fire all the black department directors. Except for Stan Harris. Harris retired and was replaced by the WORST PW DIRECTOR in history. Schulte should be fired for appointing Sherri McIntyre as the PW Director.
ReplyDeleteMy old boss was cover for the black firings.
ReplyDeleteUnqualified people are really dangerous.
Big minus: how the fire department take over of the ambulance service was managed. Shulte baffled with bullshit numbers while local 42 took advantage.
ReplyDelete7:55. Unqualified like Troy Schulte, Sherri McIntyre, Pat Klien, etc...
ReplyDeleteI would not want that dyke to kiss my ass.
ReplyDeleteDeb Herman also gets her lifetime pension....(just as firefighters and police) for serving just only 8 years on the City Council. What a sweet deal for Deb.
ReplyDelete7:55 your new boss is worthless as well and is obsessed with building his new airport.
