TKC BREAKING NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY URBAN CORE INTERNETS LAB COMING SOON!!!

This is probably one of the most important tech developments in Kansas City that demonstrates real progress in crossing the digital divide.

While other folks just write or lament Internets disparity, the workers @ Connecting For Good are going out there and doing something about it.

Notice that few politicos have latched on to this effort because these local online advocates are savvy about getting real commitments of time and funding from their supporters in order to carry out their mission . . . So often, elected officials just have kind words to share.

And so . . . Here's a look at locals moving past corporate online greed.

  1. The reason they don't have a computer is because they pawned it to buy a fucking set of wheels for their '93 Chevy

  3. This will be totally ruined in ten, nine, eight, ........

  4. They don't have computers because they don't want computers. They've got the money for 60" TVS and Xbox one's. If they wanted a computer, which are cheap these days, they'd have them already.

  5. It is not about the reality, it is about the hype! To sell the idea and get the money, the pitch has to include some community involvement angle. The reality is to build the project and collect the rent and subsidies.
I have no idea if this project is viable, given the location. The developers probably skimmed theirs off the front end. I wonder if the contractor and subcontractors will get all they are due.
