TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY COUNCIL LADY KATY SHIELDS COLLECTS WELL-TIMED CONTRIBUTIONS FROM DEVELOPERS PUSHING CONTROVERSIAL CROSSROADS TIF DEAL!!!

Right now we've got FIRST WORD FROM KICK-ASS KANSAS CITY INSIDERS WITH DOCUMENTED PROOF that a council lady is getting rather cozy with contributors and could soon betray campaign promises.

To wit . . .

KICK-ASS KANSAS CITY INSIDERS CALL OUT CURIOUS CONTRIBUTIONS FROM CROSSROADS DEVELOPERS AND POWER PLAYERS TO COUNCIL LADY KATY SHIELDS COINCIDING WITH AN UPCOMING VOTE ON A CONTROVERSIAL TIF DEAL!!!

Check the amounts . . .

Jerry Riffel: $1,350

Lathrop & Gage: $1,350

Shirley Helzberg: $250

And then . . . Katheryn Shields Loan Payback: $30K

Here's the word:

"After criticizing and running against Jim Glover on his relationships to development lawyers and their clients the timing and amounts of these contributions to Katheryn Shields are disturbing. See the attached excerpts from her most recent disclosure report."

There's also concern about this cash and Council Lady Katy's bad debt but we wouldn't DARE suggest anything tawdry against a local lady power broker who has reignited local hope in girl power.

Still . . .

The evidence is right there and it seems the tough talk about development in Kansas City and local priorities didn't last too long after campaign season . . . Depending on how she votes.

Moreover, this deal should show us how the council stands when it comes to ongoing financial discord that pits taxpayer giveaways against community concern.

Developing . . .

  1. So you're telling me there's not much difference between her and Glover so far. Keep watching TKC. I want to see how she votes on this thing once they finally stop delaying it.

  2. You expect anybody gets on the city council so they can get poorer?

  3. Same as the old boss.

  4. The Star will ignore it.

  5. What about the strange contributions to Freedom Inc. on her behalf by a non-profit organization and a Jefferson City lobbyist?

  6. As breathlessly reported by Tony. Think someone is purposely attacking Shields? Wonder why someone would do that? Fact is you could really be helping the "power brokers" out with this or did it ever occur to you that you might just be getting used? Adios amigo.

  7. The Star SHOULD ignore it. It's about as newsworthy as a nigger pissing at a bus stop.

  8. Sarcasm is what's taken away any opportunity of organizing a movement against City Hall in Kansas City Missouri

  9. She singlehandedly pushed this through the PZED Committee less than 30 days after receiving the contributions. No wonder she would not listen to the well-reasoned arguments of the opponents during the public hearing. I wonder if she made deals with Lucas, Barnes and Taylor? They shut Heather Hall down during the discussion.

  10. Phil are you going back to using the KC Cicero handle?

  11. 4:45 PM She did that after rubbing her fingernails against the chalk board to get her fat ass on PZED.

    FBI?

  12. In other countries this is regarded as a bribe.

Since the election is over, you should consider returning any unused contributions.

    Yeah, right.

  13. Sly and City Hall must be influenced by Venezuela's "Economic Miracle" which is ending in a major economic crisis which also highlights the fact that short-term success should never be taken as proof of a long-term solution.

  14. Looks like the queen is back up to her old tricks.

  15. How do committees work?
A majority of the committee members have to vote to pass an item out of the committee. One person does not pass an item out of committee. If I remember correctly every member voted to pass this ordinance out of committee. Lucas, Taylor, Barnes, Shields & Hall.
The ordinance will now go before a vote of the full council. The same process will follow and all 12 members of the council and the mayor will have a vote at that time. That's how ordinances are made.

    One person doesn't create/pass ordinances.

Any work on Cathy Jolle ? Word has it she is in cop wagon with Skippy. Nigger janitor said they were both in handcuffs and leg irons.

Westport crime expert, aka parking lot manager stated he thought they were going to Sonic for a coney and tots.

Tranny riding a unicycle at P&L while juggling dildos said that Skippy and Mr. Peanut were in a MFM with Jolle.

TKC awsome inside tipsters. More "deets" as they come in.

  19. We all knew she should sell out her supporters first chance she got. Looks like she proved a lot of people right.

  20. What is the procedure for recalling KCs Council and Mayor

It may be time to request investigations from Federal and State authorities

  21. Couple of thoughts:

First, Shields actually raised money to retire her debt, much of it from those who were former Glover contributors. Ms. Helzberg has been a long-time Shields supporter for whom -- let's face it -- $250 is not a substantial amount. And, the $30K figure is somewhat misleading, since nearly half of that amount was still in her campaign account -- unspent by the end of the campaign. Shields runs a tight ship and wastes no money -- hers or anyone else's.

Secondly, Shields NEVER said that she was against all development or even all Tax Increment Funding for development. Every case must be judged on its own merits, or the Councilmember is not doing his/her job.

FYI: TIF does not give anyone existing tax dollars. No EXISTING tax dollars are lost to anyone. It allows future ADDED tax dollars created by improvement paid for by a developer to be used to pay for all or part of the development. Often parking, since KC often needs to compete with JoCo strip mall architecture with lots of surface parking.

  22. Future added tax dollars.....just like the STAR's TIF expiring and the the STAR asks for tax abatement from Mayor Sly "KING" James. The STAR and James must really like being in bed together. Hell in 10 years we, the taxpayers, will have to bailout the new downtown Hyatt. Great deal for the city, BAD DEAL for the taxpayers
