KANSAS CITY PROTEST ON INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST POLICE BRUTALITY!!!

In order to show a more accurate view of Kansas City, it's important to consider ALL perspectives and voices involved in the local discourse . . . To that end, it's unwise to ignore an ongoing undercurrent of discontent expressed by some members of the community with the KCPD.

Yesterday was International Day Against Police Brutality and some local denizens took to the street in order to share their complaints.

Citizen media reporters took testimony, here's the description:

"Local youth recovers from coma and is then targeted by Kansas City, Missouri police. Young man is now experiencing seizures as a result of having been tased. This interview occurred on 10-22-15 during the #O22 International Day Against Police Brutality."

The clip . . .

Comments

  1. Not looking forward to the comments on this one.

People often have complaints about the police and that is their right. But I think most people are generally satisfied and they don't want there to be a drastic change like local control.

  2. This is why the police won't do anything in our neighborhoods.

  3. So stupid and you can tell this guy is lying his ass off.

  4. If I had to choose between the Blue Wall of Violence or the Black Tidal Wave of Death and Destruction, the Blue Team wins every time.

Your choice is basically a civilized society, built on the rule of law, or Mogadishu. Choose wisely: and may the odds be ever in your favor.

  5. If Kansas City gets local control of their police we will have a Ferguson-scale incident within a year. Guaranteed.

  6. Per NPR, the goal of the movement is to defund law enforcement and transfer the money to neighborhood initiatives, schools, housing, and jobs.

I don't even know what this means. It reminds me of Orwell's sheep on the Animal Farm. They don't know what they bleet but they are awfully good at it.

  7. A Call for The Jolly Task Force on Killer Cops10/23/15, 8:46 AM

I propose that Cathy Jolly be deemed to lead a special projects task force of one by God to clean-up this problem of Killer Cops.

She definately has time on her hands now.

But first things first, before she can solve this problem, we need to find her proper office space and a color scheme to her liking. Then maybe we should all pour buckets of water over our heads. Before long, the Killer Cop problem will only be a memory. GO CHIEFS!

  8. "Neighborhood initiatives" means more money for the poverty pimps. While I think the KCPD is a bloated, inept organization the answer is not to take funds from them to waste elsewhere.

  9. Agree with 8:37. It's a choice and even if you don't like it. It's better to support the police than the crooks and the chaos that would follow without them.

  10. 9:26 That is a false choice.

how about the police do their jobs and hold the moral high-ground. A thug with a badge is 100x worse than a thug on the street.

  11. Great job with the clickbait, Tony. Black "thugs" vs. "Brutal" cops. Something there for everyone, isn't there?

  12. "I've got epilepsy now..."

Amazing. That's NOT how you "Get" epilepsy.

I would love to see the videos of this. These days, EVERYONE has a camera.

JUST POST THE VIDEOS OF ALL THIS BRUTALITY.

Or did someone accidentally erase them?

  13. 10:55 the confiscation of video recording equipment by on-duty officers is well documented. There are alot of good arguments that support your side of the argument, but your argument is not one of them.

  14. A state of implied Revolution is in play in the United States. That means that since the national government of the land has morphed into a 100% corrupt, inverted-totalitarian, police-state government, it no longer is legitimate, and is an enemy of the people. as a result and a moral imperative, a state of Revolution exists in principle, even though one has not physically broken out yet, but should be in play. The police are the front line defenders/protectors of this oppressive, impoverishing, murdering, illegitimate, renegade, government, and therefore are fair and necessary targets to be eliminated with extreme prejudice in principle and or actuality by citizens acting out of a moral imperative.

  15. I got tasered 4 years ago and I still shit my pants when I see a butch cop on the street. I'm tring to find a lawyer that will take my case, but everytime I go in for an initial consultation I shit my britches and they throw me out.

  16. In a 100% corrupt, Inverted-totalitarian, police-state, like the United States, one encounters police officers covertly when one has the advantage, when they are coming and going from their homes, walking the dog, shopping, attending church services, etc. Then open a large can of Medieval, and administer it with extreme prejudice. There are three hundred million of us.

  18. This man is a PAID PROTESTER. He is receiving money for walking around with his sign trying to bait Police Officers. He has a hidden agenda.
