Greater Kansas City Area Media Denizen And Attorney Phil LeVota Takes On The Missouri Ethnics Commission

Here's the case number for anybody who wants to read it . . .

1516-CV18816 - PHIL LEVOTA V MISSOURI ETHICS COMMISSION ET AL (E-CASE)

This hasn't been a good year for the LeVota fam but this case might be a sign that these political denizens aren't going down without a fight and won't disappear from the local stage any time soon.

Freedom, Inc. Campaigning Called Out . . .

We celebrate the victories of this organization so it's only fair to acknowledge their defeats.

Legal Counsel to Clinton Adams, Jr. was noted in a campaign complaint about a mailer that didn't include a "paid by" line that is required from PACs . . . Fair play as well, two complaints against Mr. Adams were quickly DISMISSED. That leads us too . . .

Lesson In Kansas City Public School District Ethics

School Board member Melissa Robinson and her campaign are called into question not only for the "paid by" omission on a negative mailer but also for fundraising reporting infractions.

Missouri Weed Advocates Caught In An Ethical Quandary . . .

As the fight for legal weed in Missouri ramps up . . . Fundraising for the Show-Me Cannabis crew gets more complicated and they earned a slight rebuke for their advocacy with the promise to fly right. In their defense, I think they recently raised the price of Cheetos.

And so, it's important to remember that politicos also have to play by rules and often earn a bit of correction even if it doesn't seem like it.

  1. "Missouri Ethics". Now THAT is an oxymoron among oxymorons.

  2. That LeVota is HOT! I would suck him off like a Hoover vacuum.

  3. Melissa Robinson is part of the Alvin Brooks ilk. Anybody associated with him is almost always dishonest and incapable of following rules, ethics, etc. But what choice in school district candidates did we have? We could have been stuck with Joseph Jackson. Voters went with the lesser of two evils.

  4. Close the doors on Freedom, Inc. now!!!! They've been given way too many chances. Let it die.

  5. Jackson was fought for the children when the stoplights were turned off, he put Covington on blast when he lied to the board on Delano, fought when area schools were at risk of losing millions of dollars and visited schools. When there was gunfire at Attucks last December after be was off the board, he worked with neighborhood leaders and nova officers to keep children and staff safe. Where was Airwick West and Robinson??? West was visiting the Whitehouse and Robinson was a no show. If that was limping along l will take that any day versus a no show. Integrity and standing up a community that has been neglected means a lot.

  7. The Missouri "Ethics" Commission exists to penalize those who the establishment of both parties dislike. If you are not part of the establishment get involved in politics at your own risk. But be prepared to defend yourself in their little Kangaroo Court. Just like no one can drive down the street without some little traffic infraction, no one can run a campaign and satisfy all the little subjective laws.
