TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! KANSAS CITY POWER COUPLE KATY SHIELDS AND PHIL CARDARELLA CONFRONT 'HILLARY EFFECT' AMID COUNCIL RACE!!!

Kansas City political junkies might remember that not so long ago former Prez Bill Clinton got in trouble for saying that his election was like the voting public getting a "two for one" given the intelligence and acumen of his wife who would advise him.

With Hillary soon to ascend to the throne of American power (real Democracy died with JFK), the subject of political influence seems to be relevant once again . . . Even though Bill Clinton would be the GREATEST FIRST DUDE of all time . . .

But I digress . . .

This topic relates to Kansas City because this wicked little town is still recovering from the undue influence of a former power broker spouse at City Hall whose reign cost more than a million bucks all total and brought some under-qualified lawyer to power just because he had a better smile and much more charisma.

To be fair, Mr. Cardarella has a much more professional and solid reputation than Kansas City's former "First Lady" who single-handedly ruined the career of her husband.

Still . . .

SOME KANSAS CITY INSIDERS FEAR THAT LONGTIME POLITICAL POWER PLAYER PHIL CARDARELLA COULD WIELD UNPRECEDENTED INFLUENCE IF KATY SHIELDS OUSTS INCUMBENT JIM GLOVER!!!

Ms. Shields nearly equals Councilman Glover at the polls and the answer to this question could influence enough votes to make the difference.

Accordingly . . .

TKC IS FIRST TO POSE THIS IMPORTANT INQUIRY TO MR. CARDARELLA AND EARN AN EXCLUSIVE QUOTE!!!

Here's what the longtime Democrat powerhouse had to say:

Phil Cardarella: “ In the eight years that Katheryn was on the Council – from 1987 through 1994 – I can recall going to her office only to hang pictures, go by to pick her up after meetings and help her pack up her things at the end to move over to the County.

When Katheryn was County Executive – since it was a full-time position and as a lawyer I spent a lot of time in the Courts in that building – I would sometimes stop by for coffee or lunch. When asked, I would provide technical or political advice to her – as I did to previous County Executives Bill Waris and Marsha Murphy.

At no time did I represent anyone seeking financial favors from the City or County while Katheryn was in those offices. No developers, no one seeking contracts. At no time did I receive any payment from the City or County for such services. None of that will change when Katheryn is back on the Council.

While it is true that both Katheryn and I have been politically active for a number of years, it is equally true (as anyone who knows her is quite aware) that Katheryn values advice from many sources, but makes her own decisions based on what she believes is the right thing to do.”

And so . . .

You decide . . .

WILL THIS POWER COUPLE OUST COUNCIL DUDE JIM GLOVER?!?! OR COULD "THE HILLARY EFFECT" COST THEM AN EXTREMELY CLOSE RACE???

Whatever the case, this is one more deet that mainstream media won't cover out of politeness but comprises a significant talking point amid Midtown Kansas City political circles.

  3. Bill Cosby is a serial rapist, House Speaker Dennis Hastert molested young boys and Bruce Jenner is now Caitlin.

Who would've ever guessed that the Price of Darkness Ozzy Osbourne would end up having the most respectable family life out of that bunch?

  8. Oh gawd now who in the hell is PHIL CARDARELLA?

  9. Her husband. Must be a convenience marriage since they don't use each others last name and keep it separate.

  12. Whatever... I'm voting for Kathy Shields because I despise Jim Glover and will not ever vote for a Lawyer. No, thank you. Politics is politics. Lawyers can go work the law since they love it so much. Most lawyers aren't cut out to make laws. They barely qualify to practice in it.

  17. What do the rural rubes Staubio and Johnson think. Is Katy their girl?

    ReplyDelete
  18. We need taxpayers-citizens to fork out $250 to $300 million for a toy train extension so Staubio and Johnson can hop bars in Westport and The Plaza!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  25. Uh I think Sly is thinking like four year from now the next mayor could pass a higher minimum wage.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Speaking of Sly's lies one downtown developer honcho says 2,100 hotel rooms have been built downtown since 2003.

How is that shortage of hotel space for conventions?
