This crew formerly enjoyed a "worst to first" story and now it seems they are following up their success by turning all of their newsie offerings into glorified chat shows.
Take a look:
KSHB-TV NAMES RHIANNON ALLY CO-ANCHOR
Veteran journalist joins husband Mike Marusarz as Kansas City’s first husband and wife anchor team
KSHB-TV, Kansas City's 41 Action News station, has named Rhiannon Ally evening co-anchor, announced Carrie Hofmann, KSHB news director. Ally most recently was co-anchor of “CBS 4 This Morning” and “CBS 4 News at Noon” at WFOR-TV in Miami, Florida. She is the wife of 41 Action News co-anchor Mike Marusarz, making them the first husband and wife anchor team in the history of local news in Kansas City. She will initially co-anchor 41 Action News at 5:00 PM and 6:00 PM
alongside Marusarz. Christa Dubill will co-anchor The NOW Kansas City at 4:00 PM with current anchor Justin Wilfon. “We love adding another great journalist to our team who can share the stories of Kansas City with the unique perspective that comes from growing up in this community,” said Hofmann.
In addition to her work at WFOR, Ally has been an entertainment reporter and morning show anchor for WCBS-TV in New York City, as well as an anchor and reporter for KCTV-TV. She began her on-air career in Topeka, as a morning anchor at WIBW-TV, where she won a Kansas Association of Broadcasters Award for Best Morning Show and was voted one of Topeka’s Favorite Television Personalities. Ally said, "I've been fortunate to have some amazing experiences around the country. Now, as we grow our family, I'm excited to experience Kansas City, our hometown, as a mother -- with many of our family and friends nearby. We can't wait to show our son all the wonderful things about this area. From the Chiefs and Royals to all the fantastic restaurants, he will get to know an area that is very special to us."
A Kansas City Metro native, Ally attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City and was recently inducted into the Raytown Schools Hall of Fame. She begins work at 41 Action News on Monday, June 15th.

Gimmicks to try to keep a dwindling viewer base.
ReplyDeleteIf she does the news topless and he gets to ravish her during commercial breaks, I will watch. Loyally.
ReplyDeleteMaybe if they try actually reporting genuine news instead of lowest common denominator internet content and fluff they might be respected.
ReplyDeleteOften just being on a downward slope is enough to keep the momentum going.
ReplyDeleteUnless they are going to shag live on the news set I am just not very excited. Where KC news sucks is on the production and standards end of things. So far finding the talent to put together a substantive broadcast that moves a little faster than a half dead snail has just not happened in this town.
ReplyDeleteI'd fuck her in the ass. Then cum all over her face and tits.
ReplyDeleteWell, TKC did pre-warn readers about this change over the last few days.
ReplyDeleteI detest local TV news' transition into the entertainment and shopping format which they currently follow. That being said, from a strictly strategic viewpoint, KSHB management has made a MAJOR tactical error in this move.
Who are you trying to attract as viewers? Young suburban families!!! And who leads these young suburban families, making the spending decisions for their families? MOTHERS!!! Young and middle-aged mothers!! And who do these women relate to? Christa Dubill!!!! Attractive, friendly Christa Dubill, married with kids, doing lots of work with charitable groups in the metro. Jesus Christ KSHB! I didn't think you'd be stupid enough to pull something like this and hurt yourself after making ratings gains against your competitors.
Nothing against the new young couple, but these types of hiring practices are frowned upon for a good reason. And you risk alienating your other staff for perceptions of favoritism toward the husband and wife team.
Can hardly wait to see the all to familiar PMS bitchfest she will pull on his stupid ass one day. I learned a long time ago that you can't work with them and live with them also. There is just no escape.
ReplyDeleteI will watch, but I better see a sex tape real quick like.
ReplyDeleteYeah, this will benefit their marriage. *sarcasm*
ReplyDeleteThere is a point 856?
ReplyDeleteMomma made you bottle feed or what?
Or is it about attention on a third rate blogger site?
If it was the last, I sincerely regret the post.
Well I already voted months ago by switching the channel to kctv5, after watching someone interview a guy who was stoned in Westport about driving in snow. Now I don't care that he was stoned. It was the driving part that got me.
ReplyDeleteWhoever is running KSHB has lost their damn mind!
