Thanks to so many Kansas City Toy Train Streetcar fighters who graciously sent us this link with voting suggestions for those opposed to rigged transit votes.
Take a look:
SmartKC's sample ballot for April 7:
We recommend against voting for any incumbents because of their overwhelming support of the Streetcar and Streetcar expansion. Our sample ballot is as follows:
1st District-at-large: Jeff Roberts (an unknown quantity but better than Scott Wagner.
2nd District-at-large: Teresa Loar (subscribes to the philosphy that buses work better than streetcars)
3rd Disctrict-at-large: Stephan Gordon or Karmello Coleman (Lucas is an ally of the mayor, Forestine Beasley was on the Nextrail Steering Committee)
4th District-at-large: Bryan Stalder - vocal opponent of Streetcar and proponent of viable alternatives
5th District-at-large: Lee Barnes - has spoken out against the Streetcar
6th District-at-large: Write in someone's name - Scott Taylor is the incumbent.
3rd District: Jamekia Kendrix
4th District: Write in someone's name. Justus is very close with Sly James who reportedly will be looking to her for support of his agenda and we've spoken with John Fierro who was on the fence re: the streetcar project.
5th District: Edward Bell - he has spoken out against the Streetcar
6th District: Terrence P. Nash - a fiscal conservative and a vocal opponent of the streetcar and airport shenanigans

Hahaha. Too cute.
ReplyDeleteGood practice, though. Get used to losing. August of 2016 is gonna "smart".
How was last August for you, David?
DeleteLast August was healthy, elucidating and educating. Lessons learned were:
DeleteThe east side resoundingly affirmed it does not want rail transit investment, that it is satisfied with its bus service and that it does not want to pay additional taxes or Prospect Max service. It also does not want the kind if development boom currently occurring along the streetcar line downtown, as would prefer to continue the course it has been on for the last 40 years.
the midtown corridor proved yet again that they support fixed rail transit by a HUGE margin, EVERY time it is on the ballot, which is cool because that's who pays for it.
It also proved that midtown corridor voters are not swayed AT ALL by the lies and propaganda of anti-city voices, urban haters or a handful of loud Brookside NIMBYs with ulterior motives.
So the path forward is now Chrystal clear. Give the people what they want where they want it. That how good, effective, neighborhood focused government works.
Thanks for asking.
What about TGR, since she is still on today's ballot in at least parts of the City.
ReplyDeleteI voted for her. The "i quit" candidate was better than the other two options.
DeleteWhat a joke.
ReplyDeleteBITTER WHITE BOY BALLOT
ReplyDeleteWe say vote the Uhaul ticket! Vote for convenience! Vote for 20% off by using the code WHINYSHITHEEL at checkout, and you can be on your way to Dayton or Louisville or whatever urban utopia awaits you!
Because they're all urban utopias you know. They'll be perfect.
When you vote for someone based on a single belief, no matter what it is, you deserve who you get.
ReplyDeleteto 7:35am- they won't count votes for her

“We the voters of Kansas City, Mo., are going to be heard if not now, later, we’re not going to stop on this issue until the city recognizes it represents we the voters and can’t simply take on an agenda that is disjointed from what the voters want.”
ReplyDeleteGet used to it
Theresa's name on the ballot irretrievably skews the election results by putting a false choice before voters.
ReplyDeleteLawyer up candidates. This one is going to Court.
If they are pro-streetcar, they are "made".
ReplyDeletePlease take a look at Dwayne Williams. I don't know his stand on this issue precisely, but in general, hehe's concerned with the costs the government forces us to pay for services which we may not support, without asking us.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see someone shaking things up around here. It's about time!
ReplyDeleteSo far it looks like two out of the ten people on this list will win the general. anti streetcar doesn't equal a win. Did anyone really think last years election was defining?
