Social media rhetorical tactics and political consultant advice have brought about a curious trend to the Kansas City discourse.
Our top political and local leaders have been dancing quite a bit online lately.
We don't want to be a spoil sport . . . Dancing has its time and place . . . For instance, TKC celebrates the finely-aged curves of old school strippers working at 3 in the PM on a weekday.
But this is an important question to ask our community . . .
WHAT DO YOU THINK OF SO MANY KANSAS CITY LEADERS DANCING UP A STORM ONLINE?!?!
The social media theory is that this makes our leaders more accessible and approachable or at least makes it seem that way for the uninitiated. But here at TKC we are initiated and so it's important to ask people what they REALLY think about this trend in KANSAS CITY'S LAST REMAINING FREE SPEECH ZONE!!!
It's probably worth discussing this strategic bit of political communication beyond a mere cackle from an anchor lady hottie . . . Let's get it straight, we don't for a second believe that this isn't A CALCULATED MOVE TO DIRECT PUBLIC OPINION . . . Only fools would think that the spirit of dance overcomes our local leaders without some motive . . . Which is fine, we're asking more about efficacy, not intent.
Sure, dancing for the crowd is an easy way to garner news coverage and generate clicks but we're not sure if it's the best way to engage the community.
You decide . . .
