Currently, UMKC is caught a midst of a false online ranking scandal which has created a fervor among those precious few people dumb enough to believe Internets info about colleges.
On the bright side, recently a UMKC college prof reassured the nation about the duplicitous nature of love in the nation's paper of record.
Dr. Clancy Martin is a professor of philosophy at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and the author of “Love and Lies” along with this confessional piece in Sunday's New York Times:
Money quote:
"If you want to have love in your life, you’d better be prepared to tell some lies and to believe some lies. If honesty is what matters most to you, you might as well embrace a life of silence and become a Trappist monk."
Double bonus, he goes into some rather saucy detail when he describes cheating on his wife . . . Okay, it's not that hot but nobody said the boinking of a Ph.D was supposed to be scintillating:
"About a year before this argument, I had been at an academic conference and had met a colleague for coffee. By the time we were back in my hotel room, I was still telling myself: I am a happily married man. I am not going to have sex with this woman. I lied to myself all the way up the point when she said, “Let’s get into bed.” Like so many people who have started a disastrous affair, I’m still not sure why I did it: vanity, mostly, I think. I felt flattered by her desire. When the affair finally came to light, my marriage was over."
Nope, not exactly 50 Shades Of Grey BUT S&M aficionados should take note because it seems like he might have been crying during the money shot.
Sure, very much life a useless philosophy degree, most of the essay is pointless blather which name drops a few more forthright and famous thinkers. Nevertheless, this missive offers an unethical guidebook to infidelity from Kansas City's favorite college and one of their most prolific profs.

The WILDMAN has spoken. He reads TKC throughout the day.
ReplyDeleteIt's the Hearne look 7:05 and as well he was caught fucking around.
ReplyDeleteThis guy seems kind of nasty. If he's gonna describe cheating. He should show us some photos of that sweet colleague pussy and maybe describe how she moaned during sex if at all.
ReplyDeleteWhat is it about assholes like this guy and Glazer that think we the public want to hear about who all they are fucking. You know I don't really care if they fuck 50 women or not. I'm guessing they don't get half of what they claim to get but want you to think of them as studs. Not studs to me, more like duds.
ReplyDelete^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
ReplyDeleteYou're pretending to be a woman and writing about Glazer.
Whatever you got going on. Please get some help!
^^^^^^^ Whats the matter asshole, I know lots of women who hate Glazer and the rest think he is creepy. In fact I don't know a single lady one who likes him so why is 7:14 so hard to believe as a woman?
