TKC BREAKING AND EXCLUSIVE NEWS!!! COUNCIL CONTENDERS COMPLAIN: MAYOR SLY STINGY WITH CAMPAIGN CASH!!!

Fundraising has been exceptionally difficult during this Kansas City campaign silly season and now it seems that money problems have inspired complaints from more than a few council candidates who were counting on financial support from Mayor Sly's campaign.

To wit . . .

KANSAS CITY INSIDERS SAY THAT MAYOR SLY IS ALREADY STARTING OUT ON A BAD NOTE WITH THE UPCOMING COUNCIL BECAUSE HE'S BEING STINGY WITH HIS CAMPAIGN CASH!!!

Given that Mayor Sly has nearly half a million bucks on hand at last reporting, a great many council contenders expected his campaign to send cash their way.

No such luck.

Mayor Sly has offered to lend his smile to a few of his favorites but has heretofore been unwilling to offer very much monetary support.

Examples: 

- TGR shouldn't hold her breath or a check.

- Jason Hodges isn't getting much money after leaving the Mayor's Office.

- Dick Davis doesn't have a political friend in the world.

This selfish campaign strategy will cost Kansas City's Mayor down the road.

BEHIND THE SCENES, SOME OF MAYOR SLY'S FAVORITES ARE ALREADY BAD MOUTHING THE MAYOR'S CAMPAIGN FOR THIS GREEDY STRATEGY GIVEN THAT MOST PEOPLE EXPECT AN EASY SLY JAMES REELECTION!!!

Either way . . . What we're seeing behind the scenes is yet another local politico believing that his charm and personality (along with a mostly imaginary but still reasonably high public approval rating) will carry him through rather than the cold hard cash and favors that determine the fate of every other Kansas City elected official.
