This Week: Cheeky Kansas City Squirrel Reminds Us That The KCP&L Grid Is Old, Busted And Too Pricey For Customers

Our favorite story from this week that didn't get enough play is the tale of an impudent rodent who turned the lights out on several thousand barely middle-class Kansas City residents this week.

Check this mostly overlooked report from KMBC:

"At least 8,200 Kansas City Power and Light customers were without power in the Waldo and Brookside neighborhoods of Kansas City, Mo., for a short time Thursday afternoon . . . A KCP&L spokesperson said the outage was caused by a squirrel at a substation."

Not only should this remind us that the complex technology which rules our lives is constantly teetering on the brink of collapse but also that a squirrel can easily bring down a corporate giant that has a gained a shocking bit of influence over our local Democracy and so many politicos from their part-time employee Cindy Circo on down.

Developing . . .

  13. Story is BUNK full of Lies by KCPL and their phony KCPL Spokes person and they know it !
Parts of Eastern Kansas City has been losing power for Years suddenly on sunny clear days, sometimes for 15 minutes , other times for hours upon hours !!

This went on for 7 years over East of I-70 and North of 40 Hi-way.

Until one day KCPL was Threatned with a Massive Law Suit, once the records of time and dates were exposed and the numerous times it went on, for 7 years.

Meanwhile their Corporate Over paid Dipshits want another rate increase, now Twice a year the Greedy Dipshits want Rate increases for all kinds of Bullshit reasons !!

Turned out it was a Defective Transformer that took those Corporate at KCPL to make a decision to replace - 7 Years , shows how Inept and Incompetent those really are down at Corporate at KCPL as well as their phony Spokes person who comes up with all kinds of Comical lousy excuses to protect her job !!

Strange tho that Independence Power Light never loses their Electrical power on Sunny Days across the street rarely if ever, but KCPL, can't manage to screw in a light bulb and make it come on !
