MUST SEE: Kansas City Plays Movie Set!!!

Take a look at this promo clip from the (poorly named) Kansas City Film Commission attempting to pitch this town to movie producers.

OR . . .

"In Kansas City we hope to shoot movies not just people."

Here's the description:

"Eric Streit, Executive Producer and Mona Vasiloiu, Line Producer tell you about their experience with the Discovery Life Channel's production of "Those Girls". They praise Kansas City crew, the diversity of locations, the ease of filming and the financial benefit. It was a "life changer" for Streit who is 25 years in the business."

  2. Yep...such a great place to shoot.

    EXCEPT NO TAX INCENTIVES...

So let's go to Louisiana AND get MILLIONS in tax breaks. Not to mention NEW ORLEANS IS A BLAST!

  3. The Commission would be better off figuring out how to attract/grow production of web-based product rather than the same old drumbeat of 'bringing Hollywood Here'.

There is NO GOOD REASON why studios would want to shoot in Kansas City. Unless someone wants to roll over and give these guys tax breaks, they ARE NEVER GOING TO COME HERE.

  4. Shooting porn in KC has been a money making proposition. I just hope KC doesn’t tax it.
