Now, Rev. Gilmore has a great reputation, he likes to wear bow ties AND he isn't seeking office in the new election so the choice makes sense.

    The We The People group means well however our city charter does not allow for a public vote when there is less than a year and a 1/2 left in vacated seat.

    I am deeply ashamed of the full council for capitulating the choice of successor to one man, Sly James. The rigged process is not in violation of said charter. Rather, it is a violation of the open honest spirit of localized representation. I never voted for any of these board and commission members. This rigged selection committee is an open handed slap to the council members and the residents of the 5th district.

    Mr. Tony, no hate here. Just deep resentment towards a weak council.
