Jessica Borusky continues to step up her game as one of Kansas City's rising star artists and here's her latest GROUNDBREAKING PERFORMANCE ART . . .
Remember that we met Jessica about a year ago and since then her work has become even more intense. Take a look:
Artist's statement:
"Shown at Vacant Farm in Kansas City, MO; 4 Part Pyramid (LIVE!) is a performance piece that proposes to teach the audience how to start a business, and in doing so, reveals historical relationships between business upstart fervor, Ponzi schemes, and Western American Prospecting culture. While at the same time, 4 Part Pyramid showcases personal narrative and a cyclical failure at "becoming" a success through a gesture of combing water, bbq sauce, and hair gel through the scalp of the figure; denoting cultural gestures of war, business practice, and compulsive hiding."
This bit of local artsy provides us more than enough to think about for the Kansas City overnight as we prepare to finish the year in EPIC fashion for the morning update . . . STAY TUNED!!!
This is fucking rad. A+

ReplyDeleteWhat mental institution is this in the video?
ReplyDeleteAnd now I can't sleep.
ReplyDeleteWhere's that woman poet who was on here last year? Hammer's make me uncomfortable. We don want to resort to violence.
ReplyDeleteShe's still crazy after all these years!
ReplyDelete---Paul Simon (real performance artist)
I raped this bitch Lena Dunham style in my car last week. Then I smacked her around a few times and left her ass naked in the middle of Johmson County, Mo. She called me the other day saying it was the best fuck she ever had.
ReplyDeletePretentious, self-absorbed, witless. Reheated, unoriginal and inarticulate bitching packaged as edgy.
ReplyDeleteGreat. Another played out, one sided critique of capitalism. Messy and loud to distract from the total vacuum of ideas.
ReplyDeleteWhat ever happened to that talented performance artist whose entire gig consisted in lying on the floor of a WalMart in a body bag?
ReplyDeleteNow that's what we call serious KC creativity!
Maybe this joke and him could get together.
