JOLLY MAYOR SLY JAMES CELEBRATES KANSAS CITY FOR THE HOLIDAYS!!!

Here's a bit of holiday cheer and hype from Kansas City's top politico . . .

In writing as well . . .

The Bow Tie Holiday Edition

Friends,

It's hard to believe that the year has come and gone, but 2014 sure was one for the record books! We have tremendous successes to celebrate and the opportunities for our City to shine grow each and every day.

I want to thank all Kansas Citians for representing our City so well. I never get sick of seeing us in the headlines for all the right reasons. We have always known we belong there, and now the rest of the world knows it, too.

As we enter 2015, I am incredibly optimistic about what is in store for our City. We have proven time and time again that we are a city of doers. We dream big and we make big things happen.

The holidays are a great time to spend time with family and count your blessings. As I look forward to the coming year, I count this City and each of you among my many blessings. I am honored and ever-humbled to continue serving as your Mayor in the new year.

Happy Holidays,

Mayor Sylvester “Sly” James, Jr.
City of Kansas City, Missouri

  1. Sly James can't spend time with family because they're all a bunch of alcoholics!

  6. All one need do is to listen to the opening seconds of the video....

"...continue to step onto the world stage.."

...to understand the profound disconnect between Mayor James as well as many on the City Council, and the majority of citizens in KCMO.

The people of KCMO are NOT interested at all in being on the "world stage"! That's why they live in Kansas City! If they wanted to live in a "world stage" city, they would be in NYC, London, Paris, Beijing, etc.

This fundamental flaw in understanding your city's identity leads to all manner of waste in time, effort, planning, and spending. Mayor James goes to visit cities which don't share our values and identity, and mistakenly comes back wanting to replicate what he's seen elsewhere.

Perhaps a logical streamlined solution to this predicament would be for Mayor James to resign his office, and move to his favorite "world stage" cities! Meanwhile, KCMO can get back to concentrating on basic infrastructure, conservative values, and conservative fiscal policies.

    Merry Christmas KC
