Historic Kansas City statement:
"We need 600 people to give $5.00 each to finish an application to put Kemper Arena on the National Register of Historic Places.
The American Royal Association wants to demolish Kemper Arena and have City taxpayers give them $30 million to build a new private arena, PLUS give them $1.0 million a year for the next 30 years.
One thing we can do to stop this waste of taxpayer dollars is to put Kemper Arena on the National Register of Historic Places. The work is almost done. We only need $3,000 to wrap this up. Can you spare $5.00 to make this happen?"

Why doesn't the city just pay for the entire project, pay for upkeep and then turn around transfer ownership to the Kemper group? Shit, tax payers are already getting "royally" screwed on the deal.
