You know what, this probably makes a lot more sense than just creative a public disturbance. Still, there is a flaw here that you must see TKC. It's the buy black effort. Don't you think it would be more beneficial and profitable to focus on location rather than race? I guess there's nothing wrong with supporting some ethnic pride like Italians and Irish do but that might not be the same thing. A very small group consisting primarily of middle-aged black residents who are promoting voluntary black segregation. They believe their youth should be taught Black Afro-centric history/culture. They make the claim that only 2 percent of black spending ends up in the control of black merchants.
What will be the result of their Boycott Black Friday initiative?
It will be a huge failure, just as prior attempts were. It is not only impractical on a commonsense level, but it is a racist discriminatory effort which will ironically backfire upon the black community.

So 3 a day killed BY cops opposed to 1 cop killed every 9 days. So there is not some epidemic of police officers being killed by criminals.

Being that if cops are right 99% of the time, you would EXPECT that 161,989 out of 162,000 suspects are indicted and that 80 out of 81 police are not. My stats would actually support the notion that police are overwhelmingly right. My point was not that they are wrong or evil, just that SUCH a success rate is at least worth examination. that one should be suspicious of a too good to be true statistic like that. that it is SO GOOD that it shouldn't be accepted at face value, and should be challenged and substantiated.

The Daily Mail article seems to be misleading in that it implies the gun was not tested for fingerprints, which may be true, since it was tested for DNA, which (I'm guessing here) may make it hard to test for fingerprints. First I'm glad we agree that trying to equate violence in Overland Park and the east side of KC is a silly proposition.
Secondly, if your numbers are right, and there's no reason to doubt them, I completely agree with your points about the disparities with which laws are enforced.
But your point is just the small tip of the iceberg of what we rather optimistically call our "criminal justice system".
The great majority of indigent defendants are minorities who are forced into depending on the public defenders system, which consists of a handful of competent attorneys who also care, but is mostly populated by not very good attorneys who don't. And neither the public nor the media pay any real attention to what's regularly done in our names in these courtrooms and the legislators who are actually responsible for oversight and accountability are too busy polishing their "tough on crime" credentials to offer much in the way of creative sentencing or even common sense.
There are far more families ripped apart by the mass incarceration the country suffers from than interactions with the PD, regardless how tragic.
We need much more attention paid to the public defender and court systems where being poor and a minority offers very little chance of what most of us would call justice.
