Murder charges added in South KC case
Brandon Howell now faces five counts of Murder 1st Degree in the killings of five residents of the Woodbridge area of south Kansas City last September, Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker announced this evening.
A Jackson County grand jury has indicted Howell, 34, on the two additional Murder 1st Degree charges, replacing earlier assault charges filed in connection with the attacks of George and Anna Taylor in their south Kansas City home in early September. The initial assault charges were filed before their passing.
Howell now faces 12 felony counts in connection with the crimes on Woodbridge in September -- five Murder 1st Degree charges, Burglary 1st Degree, Stealing a Motor Vehicle, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and four counts of Armed Criminal Action.*
According to court records, police found the Taylors beaten inside their home on Woodbridge Lane. Officers also found three others in their yards or driveways at nearby residences. Howell was later arrested on Interstate 29 near NW 72nd Street.
Prosecutors have requested that Howell be held without bond. He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday at 10 a.m.

At some point he will pretend that he feels sorry for what he did and a coalition of bleeding heart airheads will petition for his release. A leftist judge may listen and give it to him.
