Eclectic Kansas City Hip-Hop: Dan Matic

We're working on a bunch of great stuff for the Kansas City morning and tonight, this is our soundtrack while we put it all together . . .

CHECK THIS IMPRESSIVE HIP-HOP TRACK FROM ECLECTIC KANSAS CITY MC DAN MATIC!!!

Here's an excerpt of a thoughtful statement from the artist:

"I am a visual and auditory artist working to reinvent the music community in Kansas City and introduce hip-hop culture to all audiences. Under the pseudonym Dan Matic, I create music organically—blending electronic, funk, soul, and doo-wop into one experimental, yet cohesive sound. I draw from a variety of genres to appeal to all listeners; in hopes to break the negative connotation hip-hop carries. It’s important to make known that traditional hip-hop still exists and is more than DJ-ing and MC-ing—it’s graffiti, fashion, and a rich, urban lifestyle."

Now, take a look/listen at this next level track from an emerging Kansas City artist.

Hopefully, more in a bit . . .

  13. Dan Matic Review

Within the first minute of this track, we feared the damage to our auditory system might be irreversible. Disjointed incomprehensible profane mumbling delivered in a non-rhythmic fashion.

The second minute offers slight improvement with nice horn accents, yet the poor lyrics and delivery remain a spoiling constant.

Summary: We are not impressed with this remedial effort. Additionally, we continue to be amazed at the number of young gay black males who use the hip-hop genre as a pretense for their expressed interest in fashion, design, style, and music. What ever!
