TKC NOTE: Here's a quick update from our pal Craig Glazer . . .
He's Insane It's Colin Kane!
Ahh to be young, funny and naughty! That's Colin Kane. Add in handsome as in Tom Brady, Brad Pitt handsome. Some guys have all the luck, huh. Colin is without question one of America's hottest young comedy stars. Both on stage and now in film and TV. Colin's new movie, 'Wedding Ringers' comes out for the holidays. Kane plays a red neck for hire so to speak with Kevin Hart. He is a scene stealer for sure. Colin also stars with Andrew Dice Clay for the holidays on Showtimes TV holiday special.
Colin will be at the new Stanford and Sons in Overland Park this weekend. He is doing his cruel but funny stand up act both Friday and Saturday nights at 745 and 945. Friday is sold out and Saturday is close to sold out so if you want to go call asap.
He is different to say the least. Not for the faint of heart but funny as hell.
Kane follows Bobby Slayton. In some ways Colin is the younger dirtier version of Big Bad Bobby. This is his fourth trip to KC where he has always played Stanfords. Now he is at the new one in Rosana Square. He is so vicious with his humor we have to have an armed body guard on stage with him all shows. Really no joke. But the ladies still love him.
Stanfords has quite a holiday list of stars coming including Chris Kattan from Saturday Night Live and Night at The Roxbury as well as Undercover Brother with Stanfords alum Eddie Griffin. Jeff Richards will be on hand 'The Drunk Girl' from S&L as well as The Whitest Kids You Know TV crew including the star Trevor Moore...all for the holidays and you.
Stanfords has a new great restaurant..think dinner and comedy or even large groups and banquets...fun stuff.

I love it. He sucks, but is starring in huge moveis. I'm a bad guy for bringing a guy who sells out every show so someone likes him. These first two comments are the perfect examples of TROLLS. PEOPLE WHO HATE ON LINE FOR NO REASON. They see a success as evil and bad. I have no clue what kind of monkeys these folks are. Where do they come from?

Colin does shows where he rips the audience and that niche will get old or make him dead some night. ReplyDeleteNow as for your further stupid comments about Colin, he has a huge very very minor part in Wedding Ringers and he has only been in one other 9 minute short film as a security guard, in short a person in background of a project nobody has heard about around here. Stop making these people out to be what they are not and thats STARS.
Colin can say whatever he wants. Whatever. But he's a terrible comedy writer. There's a right way to do "edgy," mean-spirited jokes. Colin Kane doesn't do it right. He's just awful and ridiculous.

I saw this clown last night and it wasn't funny, Colin relied solely on using the F* bomb. Had no real jokes just tried to get people to react to vulgar language and "shocking" sex talk. Would not recommend at all.

ReplyDeleteColin was sold out they turned people away I was there tonight. He is a fantastic comic. Great material. He is dirty but funny. So. I also saw Chris Tucker at Glazers club in Legends on last Easter Weekend. Totally sold out, 40 a ticket. No comps. I was there.

We went to the Improv tonight and saw Tammy Pescatelli and it was a great appearing to be sold out show since all seats looked full and Improv not giving tickets away like Stanford does. Was a really nice show and Tammy is a great comedian who has been in three movies and won several awards. I didn't pay any 40 dollars for tickets or was hounded to buy crap drinks either. The Improv beats Standords any week.

Improv has pretty much squeezed Craig because they book people into the 10-15 improv clubs so they will get people better than comedy club level because they don't try to pay you in coke and book you a bunch of gigs.
A bit corporate but it is a nice place. It's too bad stanford's tried to become a dinner theater instead of a comedy club.
Is there any way to buy a ticket to stanford's for a show or do you need to get that outrageous 'dinner and a show' baloney like I'm at medieval times?
worked at both Stanfords and Improv. Both have great comics. Stanfords has developed several stars from their clubs mostly Westport. Improv is a a chain and the North Kansas City club has developed nobody. All the comics, even the black ones started with Stanfords. Like movies some are good some are not. Matter of taste.
ReplyDeleteI have not eaten at the new Stanfords, but their food has to be better than the Improv's. Anybodies is I would think.
We are lucky to have them both. Stanfords was more fun, and they had real managers. Improv promotes bar backs to manger. Kind of a joke. But its still an ok club.
Stanford ans Sons is just more of a 'hot button' in our city. Been around for decades. I hear the new place is cool. All the hate on here is kinda silly. Most people go to the one closer to where they live.
Only thing Craig is good at showing is his roid riddled dick to strippers.

"Saw an advanced screening tonight in NYC and it was absolutely HORRIBLE. It was free and I still hated it, I wasted so much time. The only reason I was interested was because I came on the board beforehand and saw people say it was good, I'm not sure what movie they saw. It was so forced and tried too hard to be a Hangover/Wedding Crashers-esque raunchy comedy but failed. I hope they're planning reshoots or something soon because I don't know how anyone thought this final product was good. It was not funny, the script was bad and it wasn't anything new. Save your time, energy and money if the opportunity comes around to see it."

There you go folks good reasons to not see this turd, outside of Glazer saying it's a huge movie in itself should be the first reason to not see it.

ReplyDeleteThis comedy club actively advertises its shows, from the Wb to Ventriloquists to the next big laugh. Management rocks even if the comedy.is overly crude and too much. Hilarious night out and offensive enough to not go back
