Just wanted you to know . . . If Ed Eilert wins this election, he will be 79 when he finishes his term! (D.O.B. - 10/29/1939). He will turn 75 a week before the November 4th general election.
I think he is just finishing his 36th year in elected office* ... and trying to get 40!
OP City Council ... 4 years.
OP Mayor ... 24 years.
JoCo Commission , 4th district ... 4 years
JoCo Commission, Chair, 4 years (so far)
Total = 36 years.
That's two years more than Pat Roberts! (D.O.B. - 4/20/1936) who, though he was a staffer starting in 1967, was not first elected to Congress intil 1980.
No wonder people in Johnson County hate Overland Park (and Ed Eilert).

Your mileage may vary but right now in JoCo there seems to be a rebellion against old school politicos . . . Age discrimination or not . . . JoCo seems frustrated with the old school and now it has become a campaign season talking point.

ReplyDeleteTony, your TKC reader "testifying" about Ed Eilert sounds like Dr. Milty Wolf or some other T-Party douche bag. Since when are years of public service something to beat people up on? Eilert is a good man as is his opponent, Ed Peterson. Both are great elected officials Johnson County can be proud of. Pick on someone else dickhead.

The fuckers run you over at QT trying to get gas before heading back to Brownbackistan. There is nothing in Johnson County I really need except for a Costco, but I'm starting to drive to the Linnwood store so at least I can pay taxes to my own community. I can't think of a single reason to live in OPKS or JOCO for that reason.

Lastly, when looking for a contractor, not doing the project ranks higher than a contractor from Johnson County.
