Real estate speculators are back in full swing and hoping to cash in during this buying season bubble.
In Midtown Kansas City . . . Just about every bit of property North of Plaza is tagged as "The Crossroads" as a tribute to epic local land deals that are now more than 20-years-old.
Still, there's hope . . .
TOP ECHELON KANSAS CITY INSIDERS TOUT THIS USA TODAY LINK THAT RANKS THE WESTSIDE OVER THE CROSSROADS FOR THEIR NATIONAL AUDIENCE!!!
Take a look:
10 up-and-coming neighborhoods around the USA
The passage that concerns our favorite neighborhood . . .
"Kansas City: The Westside neighborhood, radiating out from the intersection of 17th & Summit Streets, has filled up with pioneering urban dwellers of various ethnicities and infused life into the area. Beautiful homes abound, ranging from historic Victorian and Colonial to postmodern. Centrally located, within walking distance of downtown and adjacent to the Crossroads Arts District, Westside has an eclectic mix of restaurants like Chez Elle Creperie & Coffeehouse, Blue Bird Bistro, and Westside Local Restaurant & Beer Garden as well as a variety of Mexican restaurants and bars on nearby Southwest Boulevard."
Sure, they only mention the places where white people visit and fail to offer tribute to the deer meat burritos @ Los Alamos . . . But I consider the write-up a small victory nonetheless.
From the jerks @ Charlotte Street to every real estate agent in sight . . . The Westside almost never earns mention but today that changes if only for a moment and just long enough for speculators to get a bit more enthused about their gentrification schemes.
Developing . . .

ReplyDeleteThe DC 3 at the coffee factory looks better than that sign.
ReplyDeleteI like to go to Westport, get drunk and throw up. That's livin' large!
ReplyDeleteWhy is that dog sleeping in a cooler?
ReplyDeleteYou can thank white people for that Tony
ReplyDeleteWith the Crossroads as a buffer between that area and the east side its probably a good investment. Sad though that real estate values are based on the buffers or distance from the east side.
ReplyDeleteBurritos @ Los Alamos are deer to my heart.
ReplyDeleteBut just last summer you aside the west side was becoming Detroit and a landfill for highway trash, guess you were wrong....again
ReplyDeleteYou've been reading since last Summer?
ReplyDeleteYou lose!
What a hoot. This bubble is nothing more that a locally created joke that is very temporary and will do little more than raise property taxes just in time for all of the school district's problems to be solved (with more money).
ReplyDeleteKeep trying 12:55. Sorry you're underwater on your reverse 1 and a half story fake stucco beige cracker box in Olathe. But don't be mad at people who live in cool places, just because you chose unwisely...
ReplyDeleteGot a couple of lots for sale over there, if interested let me know.
ReplyDeleteWestside is the shit. Would love to see some infill over there and some redevelopment back to its roots as a dense downtown neighborhood but still retain it's 3rd generation chicano (pocho) highlights.
