Tragic news regarding one of the best Kansas City investigative reporters in town . . .
Stacey Cameron, a hard-hitting investigative reporter at KCTV in Kansas City since 2010, is no longer at the station after his contract was not renewed, sources have told Bottom Line Communications.
They move fast getting rid of newsies over there . . . His twitter account is already gone and this doubly sucks given that was probably the only Kansas City newsie to contradict any of the pronouncements made by Dead Tree Media on the weekly chat shows.
After his "hard-hitting" report on school financing in Kansas in which he sourced and interviewed a paid lobbyist for KPI (an anti-public school group)and a state senator who has stated for the record that we need to tax food or people will eat, I contacted Stacey and spoke with him about his piece. Or should I say he whined to me for over 10 minutes about his lack of time and resources at his disposal; how he would love to do a longer piece on the finance question, but that would have to wait. Well I guess it's going to be a long wait.
ReplyDeleteDAMN!!!!
ReplyDeleteI was just starting to really appreciate this guy's contributions on KCWeekInReview with Nick Haines. A very smart guy in comparison to most of the area newsies!
Now who am going to jack off to when I watch channel 5?
ReplyDeleteOh well, back to Fox 4 and Matt Stewart.
He'll be replaced with a hot girl, either blonde or minority, with nice tits. Its teevee so-called journalism. Run by marketing consultants. That's how it works. Like public schools, part of a system to keep people tranquilized and ignorant.
ReplyDeleteBright guy.. Appreciated his POV. Hey NBC SIGN HIM UP!
ReplyDeleteHe's a smart guy who doesn't fit in with the saccharin sweet "news" personalities. He was the only reason I ever watched that channel. KCPT needs to hire him for a bigger role on their shows. Have him replace anyone of the idiots on Ruckus.
ReplyDelete1:09 is BRILLIANT!!!
ReplyDeleteAre you reading this KCPT Management?
He does good work. His demeanor is mildly, lets say, arrogant. Does the heavy lifting but his on-air presence could be a bit stand-offish.
ReplyDeleteJust needs a different venue.
that boy has a face for "radio"
ReplyDeletewhat happened to charly ardnt?
ReplyDeletePretty much the ONLY reason 5 was even remotely worth watching. WTF, KCTV?
ReplyDeleteSometimes people who are really good at what they do come off arrogant. It's better than fake. KC will lose him too.
ReplyDeleteYeah hardly anyone will admit to reading TKC but I bet we'd all be surprised at how really does read it regularly. Even the attention whores who get "real" media coverage check it out just to see if they got any of our own special brand of "love."
ReplyDeleteHe was a fraud.
ReplyDeleteAlmost every week on WiR he misstated at least one significant fact.
He kept saying he was an attorney, but he really wasn't.
Ch 5 likely dumped him because they could not put up with his bias reporting.
Nick Haines made a mistake to put him but would never admit it.
Not sure where 9:43 gets their info, but he was vetted by the station and he was in fact an attorney before getting into news.
ReplyDelete11:10, I'd suggest Brad Stephens. That's what I do.
