Longtime Kansas City political denizens might remember the name Jamie Metzl. He was really the only formidable challenger to Congressman Cleaver in a contentious Democratic Congressional Primary not so long ago.
Another tidbit: Proving that Kansas City never forgets . . . We are reminded that current Kansas City Mayor Sly James offered a token endorsement of Metzl over Rev. Cleaver and the legacy of that choice explains why the behind the scenes relations betwixt the local power brokers have been chilly despite arguments that it's all peace, love and understanding among local politicos.
Anyhoo . . .
We are very thankful for KICK-ASS TKC TIPSTERS who sent is this tidbit.
"Former Kansas City politico Jamie Metzl won first place in his age division in the Kansas City Turkey Trot 5 km race."
And so . . .
AFTER ALL THESE YEARS JAMIE METZEL RETURNS TO KANSAS CITY FOR VICTORY!!!
Back during his contest with Congressman Cleaver we figured that Mr. Metzel would go onto bigger and better things in much more promising places than Kansas City. However, it's nice to learn that the ambitious young dude visted this cowtown for the holiday in order to win another kind of prestigious race.
Now he needs to beat Cleaver.
ReplyDeleteNot going to happen. Republithugs will run Turk again and they will lose.
ReplyDeletePlease people, please, vote smart and get Cleaver out of office.
ReplyDeleteIf you vote another incumbent back into office then I say fuck you, cleaver has city, state and federal contracts for his church members only, its his way of allowing his members to "tithe" to his church their 10% and you cant call it a kick back. Every single member of the city council and the mayor should be booted from office and we should have someone come in an audit and convict any person guilty of tampering, stealing, or misusing tax money.
ReplyDeleteat what point will you all get together and say enough is enough? you cant keep voting that semi retard cleaver back into office simply because he's black.
the sad part about beating cleaver is we still have to pay him a pension. it's a lose lose deal
ReplyDeleteMetzl is making a bigger name for himself in D.C. he is just doing a bit of charity by showing up in KCMO.
ReplyDeleteThat's true. We already have way more than enough people around here who do nothing but make names for themselves without actually accomplishing much of anything.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Metzl could start another online sock company!
