I'm not sure if this stuff will cost BILLIONS to fix and justifies a new single-terminal plan but it's yet another reminder of the danger that lurks beneath Kansas City . . . Up to and including our C.H.U.D. sewer monsters.
But this is how ALL of KCMO works. Cut ribbons, build something without adequate supervision so it doesn't turn out as actually promised and planned, then run with the crowd to the next bright shiny new thing and pay no attention whatever to operations, maintenance, upkeep, or repair. And this way of doing things gets more and more expensive, with the sewer upgrades staring us in the face and huge cost overruns and lack of attention to detail just around the corner with the streetcar fiasco.

ReplyDeleteThank you for that snap shot. What a testimony to POOR MANAGEMENT at our airport. Mr. Troy Schulte should fire the current director of the airport, Mr.VanLoh, if this type of gross care is allowed to damage city property.
Kansas City International does generate enough revenue to do basic maintenance. Shameful.
I would not let this slacker be in charge of any municipal facility. We can't afford willful neglect.
And we do not need a newer airport. Southwest airlines management made the case to shut down that silly idea.
The question becomes who the fuck let this happen, especially given the fees that are sucked into that airport operation. Fuck the airport clowns. Shut the fucking thing down and bus folks in from Omaha. If the folks running the KCI show actually thought that maintenance should be so low on the list as to justify building a new airport they need to have their asses fired NOW!
