Initial reaction to Jeremy LaFaver's recent pot but scandal was mostly giggling but there is a more serious implicaiton.
To wit . . .
NOTICE DEAD TREE MEDIA AND ELITIST DEMOCRATS RUSHING TO THE DEFENSE OF LAFAVER DON'T OFTEN EXTEND THE SAME COURTESY TO POLITICOS FROM THE URBAN CORE!!!
As always, newspaper columnist Yael Abouhalkah is the worst.
More than a half dozen TKC Readers took time out of there day to call, message or text their disgust with this love letter following a hilarious weed bust report: Disappointing drug arrest for rising star of KC's Democrats
RISING STAR?!?! REALLY? CAN ANYBODY NAME ONE THING LAFAVER HAS ACCOMPLISHED DURING HIS TENURE OTHER THAN THIS POT BUST?!?!
Meanwhile, Republicans and Conservatives often complain about the newspaper's "liberal" bias but it's much worse than that . . .
The newspaper is mostly biased in support of the white, middle-class and politically elite - Sadly, LaFaver squeezes right in that sweet spot in terms of the demographics that mistakenly put him into office.
To wit . . .
CHECK MORE THAN A FEW EXAMPLES OF DEAD TREE MEDIA BIAS IN FAVOR OF WHITE, LIBERAL, MIDDLE-CLASS ELITISTS AT THE EXPENSE OF KANSAS CITY'S URBAN CORE!!!
- Remember MO House Rep. Jonas Hughes had a campaign finance dispute that he PAID but the newspaper attempted to spin the controversy into a a local Bernie Madoff scandal because Midtown Kansas City Democrats didn't really care for Hughes.
- I don't want to rehash this because it's over but MO House Rep. Rizzo was unfairly accused and linked to a voting scandal by Dead Tree Media because his relatives were involved in a hot mess. To this day, there hasn't been one charge that Rep. Rizzo has done anything contrary to election rules. Meanwhile, the Rep. is one of the very few Missouri politicos who has focused on PUBLIC SAFETY during his tenure rather than jumping on the partisan bandwagon that has hindered Democrats from Kansas City.
- Dead Tree Media is cool with the fact that old school gerrymandering has kept Latinos out of elected office for more than two decades and without any political representation. Attempts to reverse this trend have been regarded with nothing but suspicion from columnists and not even Latina token Mary Sanchez will speak against the longstanding disenfranchisement.
- Speaking of pot busts . . . Dead Tree Media endorsed School Board Dude Gunner Hand and to this day hasn't written a word about his weed arrest that's surprisingly similar to LaFaver's.
And so . . . We must correct constantly complaining conservatives . . .
Kansas City Dead Tree Media isn't an liberal Democratic rag . . . It's an ELITIST, liberal rag given that their strident defense of disgraced politicos ends at Troost or outside their circle of friends.

TKC, notice that at the end of the day LaFaver might not just survive this scandal but also win another term.
ReplyDeleteIf he plays his cards right he could use this to his advantage. That's typical Democrat strategy. Sorry TKC.
Was LaFaver even on the Kyle James Mix Tape
ReplyDeleteIts a shame you cant use the LaFaver defense in court for failure to appear, vehicle violations and anything under 2 ounces or the revrund brooks fraud and felony theft for any type of robbery under $15,000 dollars or the Cleaver tax and business fraud
ReplyDeletewhat is so very wrong with this whole filthy thing is that we have finally allowed political leaders to do ANYTHING they want and that the higher standard we held them to has been redefined to "I'm better than you and above the law" higher standard.
Whats even sadder is that there is no one left to stop this or do anything about it so we have to live with it like it or not ..or simply just leave
What the fuck are ya talking about Tony?
ReplyDeleteWhite Middle CLass Elitists and the KC Star love the Urban Core.
Jesus God they can't run off at the mouth enough about how we should spend more money, feel even guiltier, did I mention spend more money and feel guilty?
Gimme a fuckin break.

"I do solemnly swear, or affirm, that I will support the Constitution of the United States and of the state of Missouri, and faithfully perform the duties of my office, and that I will not knowingly receive, directly or indirectly, any money or other valuable thing for the performance or nonperformance of any act or duty pertaining to my office, other than the compensation allowed by law."
ReplyDelete---Oath of Office of Members of Missouri Assembly
Seems to me that a fundamental premise of supporting the Constitution is to obey the law, regardless of whether we agree with it or not.
LaFaver knowingly and willingly broke the law. LaFaver needs to resign. Period.
There may be medical reasons the congressman was smoking weed
ReplyDeleteThere may be no evidence that Rizzo acted improperly, but he hasnt shown any real integrity by remaining in office that he won through 2 illegal votes.
ReplyDelete7:58- Then LaFaver can go someplace where smoking weed for medical reasons is not illegal. Hint- That place is not Missouri.
ReplyDeleteFair is fair, if Rush can eat a quarter million dollars of oxy in one year and go to rehab, than this dude should get a .10 fine for breaking a .10 law.
ReplyDeleteCorrupt city, corrupt newspaper.
ReplyDeleteThe corpulent populace has been so dumbed down by the public educational system they are content to stare into their boob tubes, play with their gadgets, or read what a friend of a distant relative ate for breakfast, on Facebook.
ReplyDeleteBut the toy train is going to fix all that anyway.
Chuck Chuck Chuck. Rush is not a elected official.
ReplyDeleteChuck- It's not a question of the validity of the law. It's a question of respect for the law. And who better to lead the charge for decrim than a lawmaker? Except now LaFaver has been compromised. Stupid asshole.
ReplyDelete8:51
ReplyDeleteThat is true and I am usually in lock step with Rush and his commentary.
That said, I think that it is noteworthy, especially with Tony's mention of white elites.
I refuse to be as disingenuous and willfully impercipient as liberals are.
Rush is in fact a symbol and spokesman for the Right (And a damn good one.). Because of that, when a local Democrat gets popped and politics come into play, I always want to confess my sins in advance.
I still think Rush is dead on 90% of the time, but he did get off with a slap on the wrist for sucking down 250K worth of illegally obtained schedule 3 drugs.
It is what it is.
Chuck, allowing people to pick and choose which laws they follow leads us to the exact point of lawlessness that you constantly whine about on this blog. Specifically, blacks who believe they are entitled to do whatever the hell they want.
ReplyDeleteGlazer got a dandy for us tonight folks. He won't dissapoint!
ReplyDeleteLafaver should resign and go back to his lobbyist job.
ReplyDeleteOh, leave him alone. He's cute and besides he's a great fuck. Especially when he's stoned.
ReplyDeleteFrom his own website, here's a list of who endorsed him in 2012.
ReplyDeleteMayor Sly James
Jackson County Prosecutor and former State Rep Jean Peters-Baker
City Councilwoman Jan Marcason
City Councilman John Sharp
Jackson County Legislator Crystal Williams
Jackson County Legislator Theresa Garza Ruiz
State Representative Jason Holsman
Former State Representative Beth Low
Former State Representative Marsha Campbell
Former State Representative Jack Campbell
In addition, House Democratic Leader Mike Talboy has fully endorsed my campaign...
Later the KC Firemen got on board, too and the Four Freedoms LGBT folks.
The guy was annointed so it's no wonder he didn't think laws applied to him anymore and with a last name like "TheFavor" he's a natural fit for the current kleptocracy.
"RISING STAR?!?! REALLY? CAN ANYBODY NAME ONE THING LAFAVER HAS ACCOMPLISHED DURING HIS TENURE OTHER THAN THIS POT BUST?!?!"
ReplyDeleteYes, Tony - he accomplished more in the Democratic Party than your boy, John Rizzo....and his crime isn't a felony like Rizzo's.
Yael is a writer on the take ,he sells the paper to the highest bidder and has no integrity he should be writing for the sleazy Pitch. He has taken the Star to new low with this ,rising star stuff he is a pot head who won't go to court and then used his position to try and further his pot use.
ReplyDeleteAlmost everyone who endorsed Jeremy is corrupt - those same (corrupt) people are also the same ones that endorsed John Rizzo.
ReplyDeleteHA! I like the comparisons to Rizzo. Theyve got you Tony.
ReplyDeleteJeremy was head of the HDVC. Rizzo was the House Whip. I guess Rizzo will now take over HDVC. Tony, honestly, you can't really justify being against one of these guys while you favor the other. Jeremy didn't have a dad who paid your mom and you, I understand; but other than whoring yourself out to unjustifiably defend Johnny Joe, you really have no basis for not being consistent.
ReplyDeleteWarning to all of you who comment about John Joseph Rizzo: Tony will begin his matriarch duties and begin deleting posts again.

The Dems are not going pit on a limb for this guy. They already have a minority in the state house. If they want to guarantee the status quo defending this joker would be a heck of a way to seal their fate. They would be better of just leaving the guy to be the rogue. If this doesn't hang him he will get the job done sooner or later.
ReplyDeleteI like Jeremy's little pee pee! it tickles!
ReplyDeleteNewsflash from the 20th century:
ReplyDeleteBrookside, Waldo and the SW Corridor are as much a part of "the urban core" as Midtown or the East Side.
The housing is nearly identical, the density is often higher, and the built environment is comparable.
But you don't need a bullet proof vest to pick up the morning paper.
ReplyDeleteTrue Dat
ReplyDeleteWho hasn't or doesn't get high?
ReplyDeleteGive this a break party people.
The guy is a Democrat. I am shocked.
ReplyDeleteHe took an oath. He BROKE the oath. HE NEEDS TO RESIGN! And, TONY SMOKES POLE!
ReplyDeleteTony smokes Rizzo Pole.
ReplyDelete11:12
ReplyDeleteThe Dems already shot themselves in the foot for the next state-wide because the Republicans are going to shove Rizzo's election fraud up our asses to take out any chance we have of gaining (and maybe maintaining) our state-wide positions. Thanks, Rizzo, you worthless Fuck.
God how I hate Yael Whatafucka! I wish this POS would get run over by the toy train.
ReplyDeleteHave some respect! It is Yael Aboulallahggenbbuesaachlmmuvtewopzaeuroifhsllakjfitkookoorowweitiippaslonfijuteouierpufhivnteir.
ReplyDeleteOr...Yael Ragtop
Grandpa to Grandson: When you grow up find someone to pattern your life after. Someone like Jeremy or Yael. (Sarcasm intended).
ReplyDeleteYael supported LaFaver - and don't forget that it also endorsed John Rizzo. Apparently, TKC and the KC Star were in agreement on this one.
