Riddle TKC This: Why Does Kansas City Mainstream Media Love Jackson County Exec Mike Sanders So Much?!?!
Seriously, here's another love letter directed the way of the Jackson County Executive . . .

Now, I realize that TKC is naturally contentious because I'm a child of divorce . . . BUT C'MON . . . The Jackson County Exec is a nice guy and all but he's sitting atop a political powder keg and the recent Property Tax hot mess is only one aspect of it.
We've heard that he helps former newsies but there are only so many jobs available at the County . . . All of Kansas City media can't think of the Courthouse as unemployment insurance.
So what is it?
Meanwhile, TKC has to CONSTANTLY remind folks that the only opponent Mike Sanders has ever beaten was a very old school Doc Wheeler . . . Right before the poor guy became homeless.
So, the softballs will likely continue given that Kansas City's pathological politeness is one of many reasons our politics have been ruined.

ReplyDeleteHe proposed on Kraske's radio show that Missouri should implement a property tax law that raised sales taxes in California and cut funding to first responders, education (even in the burbs) and social services to the elderly and the poor.

This fucktard needs to just get out of politics. He never works at the job he was elected to do. He hires people who make six figure jobs who do NOTHING at the county, and most of the time don't show up or are late for work.

ReplyDeleteI know you like to downplay the Wheeler race, but remember Charlie raised almost one million to run that race and had the support of Barnes, the Chamber and virtually every business leader in the city. The SOB was a popular state senator with near universal positive name ID. Sanders had the unions and the lawyers. He won big, but EVERYONE was counting him out including Kraske and all the pundits.
ReplyDeleteSince the 1970s Wheeler won one race and that was for State Senate against a guy who name was Italian for "crook." The pundits were surprised because they all thought the crook would win the state senate race.

ReplyDelete4:32, read your own post. Wheeler raised money, had Kay the Spender's support, the Chamber's support, businesses support and STILL LOST! He has medical and law degrees and is now BROKE! The airport naming was a pity party.
