Kansas City Backwards Critical Mass

Cycling activists rule the streets one again this month . . .

Kansas City Critical Mass - July 2013

The backwards clip is kinda cool and serves as a nice visual metaphor reminding us of Kansas City's lack of progress on things more important than protecting the rights of banana-hammock wearing d-bags doing battle with commuters on local streets.

  5. My best guess is it's just a matter of time until some stressed out lunatic snaps and goes into road rage and mow down a bunch of these folks. Or some some drunk driving the wrong way on the street over the speed limit oblivious to whats in front of him sends people flying through the air.

  7. I can accept that willing communities want to have bicyclers on their main streets and neighborhoods in bike lanes, but to force it is another issue. It adds another obstacle for good innocent drivers that already have to deal with those one-handed,non-focused drivers talking on phones or texting, let alone those driving impaired with alcohol and other dangerous substances in their systems. Priority should be safe streets. Where did the common sense go for the common good?

  8. Missouri Statute:
307.190. Riding to right, required for bicycles and motorized bicycles.
Every person operating a bicycle or motorized bicycle at less than the posted speed or slower than the flow of traffic upon a street or highway shall ride as near to the right side of the roadway as safe, exercising due care when passing a standing vehicle or one proceeding in the same direction, except when making a left turn, when avoiding hazardous conditions, when the lane is too narrow to share with another vehicle or when on a one-way street. Bicyclists may ride abreast when not impeding other vehicles.
