KC Infozine reports: "Kansas Attorney General Derek Schmidt has joined with eight other state attorneys general in objecting to recent lawsuits filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) against companies that use criminal background checks as part of the hiring of new employees."
Meanwhile, let's not forget that the City Council gladly passed "Ban The Box" legislation in order to give former criminals a level playing field for City Hall employment.

Let's not forget that 11/12 of the City Council are idiots.
ReplyDeleteWhy do "former criminals" deserve a level playing field?? They're fucking criminals, fuck them and everybody that looks like em!!!
ReplyDeleteCause you never know who's a serial killer
ReplyDeleteProblem is those background checks aren't all about criminal convictions and often what companies use as criteria are way beyond the scope of the job. I mean dies a guy who digs graves deserve to be out of a job because he got convicted for littering? that is the kind of shit that is really going on with some companies. ...and if your company underwrites health insurance under one of the insurance companies names just guess who is looking at your medical records?
ReplyDeleteBullshit! Don't get a record and DO get a job. It's pretty fucking simple and should be fairly clear, even for a fourteen year old.
